LATER; ELSEWHERE.

Convinced that he is alone on the battered Decepticon battle cruiser (except for a red and pink Seeker he did not recognize and was unable to reactivate), the Autobot Drumroll stumbles to a communications center and opens all channels, hoping to receive some transmissions to indicate someone else is still alive and functional nearby.

He does not simply wait for any such transmissions, though, but immediately begins broadcasting on all channels as well. "This is the Autobot Drumroll, aboard the Decepticon battle cruiser..." (he glances around for some sort of ship identifier) "...Decepticon battle cruiser TFL-539-NPC-404. Is any Autobot or Decepticon receiving this transmission?"

He begins calling specific ships he knows were involved in the recent encounter. "Steelhaven, Thunder Arrow, do you read me? ...TFL-539-NPC-404 hailing the Stratotronic Jet--do you copy? Uh... Graviton, come in."

Then he starts naming Transformers he knows were on board one of the nearby ships. "Skids, Fastback--are you there? Glit? Car Dart, Speedstar, Enemy?"

Eventually, Drumroll records a message and sets it to broadcast on a continuous loop. "This is the Autobot Drumroll, aboard Decepticon battle cruiser TFL-539-NPC-404. This vessel was participating in joint maneuvers under Autobot-Decepticon truce against unidentified hostiles. Think... Four Autobot craft, I think, and I think six Decepticon craft--various ship classes--all adrift now, engines gone or offline. Counting the crews of all the ships, maybe a hundred Transformers in all... at least there were. I can't raise anyone else on the comm. Any Autobot or Decepticon forces receiving this transmission, please send assistance... Message repeats."

A medium sized Transformer with Autobot markings is flung from a time-space vortex that closes in on itself. This Autobot is Jetfire, an Autobot Seeker and scientist. Coming to his senses after his wild ride, he opens a comms.

Optimus? Silverbolt? Can anyone hear me?

Jetfire is too far away for his comms to reach his home planet of Cybertron, but not the same Cybertron the rest of the Autobots have came from..

Not knowing what to do, Jetfire starts flying through space, when his long range scanners pick up a faint comms transmission.

Homing in on this transmission, Jetfire responds to the comms before taking off towards the origin of the signal.

Drumroll, This is Jetfire. I recieved your transmission, I am on my way. Be there as quick as I can.

The name echoes in Drumroll's mind: Jetfire?

Jetfire changed his name to Skyfire when he joined the Autobots, but Drumroll was always wary of the former Decepticon, wondering if his defection could be some kind of trick--or if maybe he really had switched sides, but might switch sides again in the future. At any rate, the last that Drumroll knew, Skyfire was missing in action and presumed dead, buried in Metroplex's weight in colliding and collapsing Arctic icebergs on planet Earth.

Somehow Skyfire must have been freed and reactivated, and changed his name back to Jetfire for some reason. Unless...

Skids was talking about particles able to cross over between dimensions, Drumroll remembers, and he theorized that some of the Transformers involved in recent battles might have been made from these "Dimension Slide" particles. Sideways, Scourge... and now, maybe Jetfire.

An alternate reality version of a Decepticon-turned-Autobot. Hard to know whether or not this Jetfire could be trusted, but what choice is there? And after all, Drumroll was just involved in a battle that saw Autobots and Decepticons fighting on the same side--and with Drumroll himself, an Autobot, aboard a ship full of Decepticons who made him a gunner instead of a target.

Keying the transmitter, Drumroll sends Jetfire a reply: "Acknowledged, Jetfire--glad to know that help is on the way." I just hope you really ARE coming to help.
