G'day guys! Long time no see . . . Been too busy lately to indulge in my favourite little hobby, but all that changed this week. I bought a G1 ironhide in fair condition [minus tyres & head] on ebay, should get that this week sometime. Also I just came back from my first trip to the markets in ...

My Market Place Adventures

Hey Guys, just thought I would post an update for my trip on Sunday to the local Markets. Despite the heavy downpour all night and right through to within 10mins of the official opening times for the Sunday Markets, this Sunday was a great turnout and for me [at least] a rather successful scavenger...

Hi guys, it's been awhile but I thought I would give a quick update. As you can see: http://i427.photobucket.com/albums/pp353/foxmalcolm/Forum%20Stuff/2012-02-29203901-1.jpg My TF collection has started to increase [though not by design], it's ironic that most of my TF's are the byproduct of organi...

Sure thing, here you go:
First up is a picof Roadbot with his light on in vehicular mode
Second is a pic of his Light Axe
These are the only things that light up.

RoadBot

Just saw these in Wololworths the other day and decided to get one. Pic1 Pic2 And whilst first impressions of it were really awesome I have since concluded that it is a really bad toy. While it is finely crafted and durable it is over designed and too ridged for play. Each part of the movable piece...

Ok it took the better part of a week but the hydrogen peroxide whitened the yellow parts [granted the only real day of sunshine was the last day but still]. So I painted his chest piece and reassembled him. Pic Also during this time his replacement decals arrived and that is when I noticed a few pr...

Continuing Restorations

Hi guys, Rather than continuing in my other post which was specifically about Prime's restoration and end up having naysayers get upset about my new post about this new restoration, I decided to do a generic ongoing restoration page [that way I won't be going off topic, cause it is ongoing ;)]. So ...

Nice find! I've got a spare Fireflight (unbroken and bot only) I'd let go for real cheap if you're interested. Sounds interesting, I never owned Superion as a child. Feel like I am in a pokemon cartoon, "Gotta catch them all!!" When ever I go to my version of the market there isn't...

Thanks for the welcome everyone, just thought I would show an updated shot of Optimus in alternate mode now that I have finished painting him, fixing his chrome and detailing him. * * NOTE * * I just ordered his replacement stickers from repro, unfortunately they will probably take a week or two to...

Thanks guys it has been a fun three days so far. I will probably do one more update on the painting progress of Prime and maybe one more on the trailer repairs but I won't be able to do anymore until I can secure some parts. On that note LD2062, I just PM'd you a parts request. As for me I like to ...

Oh yeah I should also mentioned that during the last assembly I did a test fit and tightening of his limbs using superglue on the inside tracks so that after a few layers everything fitted tightly

So knowing that I feel better, I want to not only repair this old timer, I want to restore him back to his former glory! So using rubbing alcohol and cotton buds I started to pull him apart and clean all the parts. Looks like someone tried to repair him before, he was covered in bluetack, superglue...

The repair

Now that I had examined them both I was more determined than ever to repair them. So I set about finding out how to do that. Along the way it became necessary to find out what variant/s I had. Perusing dozens of " expert " websites I finally found one which listed all the different varian...

Now onto his trailer . . . First glance tells me that this trailer is in excellent shape. Its bright, shiny, no obvious dings even the tyres are bright and black. Other than the obvious sun faded decal on the side she looks perfect . . . . Side view no wait, camera just panned around to the back, l...

G1 Optimus Prime Restore Project

G'Day fellow Transformer enthusiasts! Just thought I would share with you my re-baptism into The TF universe. On Sunday [that just past] I came across a G1 Optimus Prime with trailer being sold at a flea market for $15. I didn't really look too hard at its condition or try and barter the guy for it...
