I don't think it makes it more valuable. However, that sticker is part of the history of that toy, like the price tags.

Re: Trailbreaker Odditty.

I've never seen that version before. I went to check mine and both the Transformers and Diaclone have the slots, so my guess is that this is either a defect, or a very late issue. I don't have any reissues to check. Can you describe what it says on the copy stamp, and post a picture of the wheel riv...

Nice! I personally feel it's a good part of the fun hunting the pieces, and finding the last one has a very special taste.

I really like Superion, but I'm disappointed at Menasor. Why are them now generic cars?

Re: New toy purchases

Unless you notice a difference on Gears with the date stamp, I wouldn't mess with it, as it's very nice. If you don't like the rubsign you can just peel it off and you are done.

Re: Weapon/Accessory identification help

Could be, or could be not. I consider myself colorblind to distinguish shades of colors, as they depend on the manufacturing process. You would have to inspect them real close - it could even be a KO. For the last case, you may test them on a Starscream, a KO shouldn't fit right.

Re: Weapon/Accessory identification help

A1 and 2 are G1 Starscream's launchers, so it's the fist on B2. G2 has a different color. A4 is Tracks' gun and A7 are its missile launcher setup. B3 suits Laserbeak or Buzzsaw, right side. B4 is Shrapnel's gun. B10 works for Grapple or Inferno. B11 are Smokescreen's launchers. B12 is a broken gun f...

Re: New toy purchases

Did not know what this was so I did some research. ...... that thing is way cool! The legitimate Takara one looks to bring a premium on the bay. Would that be considered then the first Megatron? They were released at the same time, so no. There's also another gun robot, a Colt 44. Only the Walther ...

Re: Reissue vs. OG....... where do you stand?

I have of both. I like from the originals the feel of a better quality plastic and paint finish, however I appreciate the chance of getting a perfect figure for a lower price. Some reissues are better made than others -i.e., great job on Hoist, vs. a poor "Silverstreak" -. Nevertheless, if...

Re: The Holy Grail

Often when pre-production items go to hands of collectors, is because someone at the staff "borrowed it" or wanted to take his/her work home. Name it whatever you want... But that's why they are "hot" items. :D The key in rare collectibles is provenance.

Go for every variation you can! Similar figures with subtle differences look cool, and being the cassettes small won't give you much trouble with room.

Re: The Five Transformers Devastators (sort of)

I've never known what the criteria is to determine which is going to be the official color, and why they drop other choices. I like more the black forearms, and Mixmaster looks better with a gray drum. All in green is a bit dull.

Re: The Holy Grail

It's always been my understanding that the "blue" bluestreak is just a farce based on urban legend and misunderstandings stemming from product advertisement. Technically, it made it as a Transformer. The pre-production Diaclone Bluestreak with Autobot labels used in the 1984 catalog is TH...

Re: Manufacturer education request

Region matters too. For example, into the early releases, you will see just "Takara", not Japan or year. This seems to be a US thing. Therefore, you can find the 1984 Transformers with just Takara, then Takara+kanji+Japan+year, then Takara+Hasbro+Japan+year. The seekers however, in their f...

Re: The Holy Grail

Blue Bluestreak will always remain as my Transformers Holy Grail. Even in Japan is super expensive and probably will stay away from my collection forever. I have a repaint though, but a filler isn't the same.

You have to add the G1 Pre-Production Devastator, known by nearly everyone, but probably overlooked:

Re: Why does my one OP have this.......

Are they supposed to be Joustra? I got a Bonecrusher in yellow, gray canopy, just Hasbro marks, and no "Decepticon" G2 legend, loose from UK. I thought that it might fill in interesting enough my G2 orange Devastator, since that was the one I'm missing. Pics: http://img.photobucket.com/alb...
