Re: The Eternals (2021)- Maggy's Movie Reviews
Daaaaaamnnn. I haven't watched any MCU stuff since Endgame, and it sounds more and more like I've made the right choice. Could it be that there's just too much power level creep, and now nothing can really make sense without a bunch of poor storytelling elements, retconning, and other such forced ga...

Re: Generations Legacy
Dear Hasbro, Thank you for your interest in my 2009 fan-design character "Cambreaker" I'm surprised you found the photographed concept drawing on my long-inactive DeviantArt account, so I assume you carefully follow my online presence. I have chosen to waive my copyright protections on the...

Re: Shipping question
Metroplex seldom breaks in shipping. We usually ship him in robot mode, and just make sure he is adequately padded and not squeezed up against the wall of the box. I think most of the waist breaks were from the sorts of abuse that only a rambunctious child can dish out

Re: Price Guide inconsistencies
I see what you're saying. This is kind of an artifact of where our data on a for-sale figure is stored. The "toy type" (sealed, packaged complete, loose complete, figure only) is stored as a sort of primary key in our database, but the description is just stored as a text blob. We have chos...

Re: Bad News: Takara Transformers no longer official!
Nope. We are not able to use the name Transformerland on ebay, despite the company being incorporated as such, and having been so for over a decade.

Re: Bad News: Takara Transformers no longer official!
I'm not saying it's necessarily malice, but a web of perverse incentives leading to abusive behavior towards parties with less or no power. It enables and empowers the stupidity.

Re: Bad News: Takara Transformers no longer official!
The corporatocracy is always a relevant discussion. I used to hate "the auction site", but now that I have to deal with them for a big chunk of my living, I really hate them. In this case, Hasbro is acting under the perverse incentives set up in that system. However, I shall forever take i...

Bad News: Takara Transformers no longer official!
So, we got this notice from the auction site's VeRO (Verified Rights Owner) program notifying us that our Japanese G1 Black Zarack and Music Label Soundwave are not official Transformers, and it is inappropriate to use the Transformers name in our listings for them. What could this mean for the Tran...

Re: Please help me!
Huh. Until this thread, I'd never seen any other than the Dash Max. Good to know what they all look like. Now if only the official one wasn't priced at $280...

Re: New toy purchases
I have to say, the folded cardboard inserts for Kingdom are making my package-saving take up a LOT less space. I wish I could go back in time and make all packaging since the 90s have cardboard-only packaging.

Have you tried any of the Mega Construx MOTU? Minerva had little interest in them, I have too many other collections, but I thought they LOOKED pretty cool.

But there's OoooOOOnnnnllLLyyyyYYY a dozen so far!
I like Buggy Robo, he's very tidy and straightforward. And he's not icky green like all the Japan-produced originals. His boombox-looking gun is fun too.

Re: LEGO
Classic Space, and the early '90s space themes are my jam. Blacktron I and II, Space Police I, Unitron, M-Tron, and Spyrius. I'm not super active though, my last buy was 6989 Mega Core Magnetizer. I already collect too many other toys, so I'll probably finish off these series and call it a day. I'll...

Re: New toy purchases
My tactic has always been to use a knife and slice 3 sides of the bubble from the card, which has resulted in me saving 25 cubic meters of packaging. I can't say I'm proud of it

Action Toys Machine Robo (ATMR)
Love this line. Can't praise the little buggers enough. Clever but largely intuitive transformations, very poseable, fun weapons, l'il bit of die-cast for "that heft" . Considering the price of MP these days, they're easily comparable value at $50 MSRP. Anybody else got any? Missile Robo (...

Yup! One of these days I'd like to hunt down an original Takara set for the Brave archive. Dash is the only KO I've seen in the wild, and I'm not sure why.

Re: Some thoughts
I've always been partial to "not Earth". In a G1 setting, Earth has a tendency to result in hamstrung Autobots spending more time dealing with humans than Decepticons. I am OK with Earth being an offscreen element though, because I LOVE using specific Earth vehicles as alt modes :D I think...

Re: Please help me!
It is a knock-off of Sky Max from Takara's 1990 Brave Exkaiser. The original toy combined with a car and drill tank to form God Max. The KO of the car, Dash Max, is a fairly common sight.

Are you also planning to grab Road Ranger and Puffer? Or at least comment on the fact that the name "Puffer" is canon now?
