Transformers: Italian Style

Post by Countdown »

Hi, I am looking at a micromaster transformer through evil-bay that looks like a pretty good deal to me.

It appears to be a Italian released transformer. The box says:

"Autochange Base"

But, the box doesn't mention the name "Transformers" or "Decepticon" or any other faction/brand that I can see.

My question is, whether or not it's legitimate/a ko. It looks real to me. The box looks like other micromaster boxes (color scheme, pictures, etc). I would post a link, but I am afraid to violate the auction link policy.

Any opinions?

Hmmm I'm not an expert but I'll try to help a little :)

Here's a pic of an italian box of Transformers .In the 80's they were distributed by GIG(also this micromaster lyne). In this pic, that I show,on the bottom and at the top of the right side there is the logo in a white oval.

it's called Microtrasformer Argon,so I think that could be a micromaster .
GIG boxes always had the Autobot and decepticon logo if I remember correctly .
I don't know if your item is a KO but surely is not distributed by GIG,because Transformers logo aren't present.
I hope that also others could help you.

Its a KO....i have some of those so i know firsthand
I bought them for a very low price so i shouldn't complain. Some of them didn't even have the robot inside, and some others bots broke just by touching them. The bases themselves are not of the best quality (plastic-wise) but at least they won't fall apart, the joints are ok.They are good until you get the real thing or when you don't plan to get the original at all.
Far over the Misty Mountains cold, To dungeons deep and caverns old. The pines were roaring on the height, The winds were moaning in the night, The fire was red, it flaming spread, The trees like torches blazed with light.

Razorclaw -

Do they at least look accurate? And were your pieces brittle like the combiner KOs that are out there?

Thank you both for commenting on this.

As far as i can tell (but its just a guess because i don't have the respective originals),the molds are identical. The plastic of the bases has a somewhat cheap feel but seems to resist crumbling just by holding it -can normally transform without/with minor problems- and the joints are tight. The plastic was brittle like on the bots though;maybe of worse quality than that of the KO combiners, for me at least.I did find the auction,i'd say its not worth it if you add the shipping costs.I think i had paid less for four sets than the BIN price of the auction.
I had bought them from a local store.

Trance? Can you tell us what those ADG stickers say? Or provide us with a good closeup of one?

Spoiler below, Hound. Read it if ya don't see the answer yet. :)

Flattop's packaging lists the contents as the "Sports Car Patrol" when he is really an aircraft carrier/jet.

Hey Wheezel, it's not a sticker, it's printed on. They say, and I quote,

Bunch of legalese, but it looks like the KO fab has been identified =)
