transformers electronics

Occasionally I have trouble figuring out what the electronics do on some of the toys. For istance:

Cybertron metroplex has batteries in the staff. Also does the saw blade open up?

And the cab on the armada optimus gigacon.

The cab on the Armada Prime is used in conjunction with his trailer. When you press the autobot symbol on the cab, the trailer transforms automatically, assuming batteries are not dead and the trailer is on.

^ As long as the cab's electronics are not broken

Cybertron metroplex's staff electronics work in conjunction with a cyber key being inserted into it.
