I think the early ones don't have one. Mine does not.

Excellent. I was sure it was real, but not finding the stamp troubled me.

If it *were* to have a date stamp, it'd be on the tail. For a US release, Hasbro on one side, Takara on the other. I also assume that the Japan release only has Takara.

I can also verify that *modern* knockoffs have date stamps on the tail. So worst case scenario if you have NO date stamp is that it's a vintage knockoff or pre-transformer. But then I'm fairly certain you'll have sticker/coloration differences?
