Sunstorm and his assistant Scalpel look up as someone comes through the door of the repair bay currently assigned to them. Scalpel scurries over, calmly and professionally saying, "Please state the nature of the patient's medical condition."

Slingshot, was surprised at the question.
"Um, I got Squished, you're the doc, aren't you supposed to be able to tell"

Scalpel rolls his eyes--although it's possible he's just doing a preliminary examination of Slingshot's underside. "Well, your undercarriage looks fine," the tiny doctor says defensively.

Sunstorm easily catches up with his assistant and helps Thundercracker bring Slingshot into the room. "Thanks for bringing him in, Thundercracker," Sunstorm says, quickly looking over both his fellow Seeker and the other transforming jet he's wheeling in. Finding that Thundercracker looks no different than usual and certainly better off than Slingshot, Sunstorm reasons that Thundercracker is only here because Slingshot couldn't come in on his own, not because Thundercracker himself needs any treatment. Still, Sunstorm is not the sort to make assumptions. "You don't look like you need our services at the moment, do you Thundercracker? Just helping Slingshot get in here?" The medic refocuses his attention on Slingshot.

"Unlike my vertically-challenged friend here"--Scalpel makes a noise of protest at being called "vertically-challenged" (although he's really only a little bit annoyed, knowing that Sunstorm did not really mean to offend him)--"I can see that you've taken quite a beating. All of it on your upper surface, apparently... Something fell on you? What was it, and how recently did this incident occur? And may I presume that the reason you came here in vehicle mode is because you're having some difficulty transforming? Are you suffering from any other symptoms that you're aware of?"

As he speaks, Sunstorm activates the advanced diagnostic scanners in his optics and begins walking around Slingshot, scrutinizing Slingshot's entire length from a variety of different angles. Scalpel skitters around underneath Slingshot, similarly scanning Slingshot from below. (Sunstorm could perform the scans on Slingshot's underside, but having Scalpel do so saves the extra time it would take for Sunstorm to either get beneath Slingshot or mount Slingshot on a forklift.)

Scalpel briefly confers with Sunstorm after both finish scanning, and Sunstorm informs Slingshot, "You seem to have some structural damage and misaligned components creating physical blockages that prevent you from transforming, but your transformation cog seems unaffected--it's just shutting itself down to protect you when it recognizes that something would interfere with your normal transformation sequence in damaging ways. You should be fine with nothing more than some quality time in a CR chamber--you shouldn't need any surgical repairs or replacement parts. Now, since you're stuck in vehicular mode for the time being, would you prefer a horizontally-oriented CR chamber, or shall we see about propping you up in a vertical CR chamber so that you can stand up when you're sufficiently repaired to revert to robot mode? And do you have any other questions or concerns before you enter the CR chamber?"

"Yes. He required my assistance, and I gave it," Thundercracker replies. "If further assistance is not required, I'll be on my way."

Thundercracker turns and leaves, passing operating tables and assortments of medical tools the use of which the blue seeker has no inkling.

(Thundercracker has left the medical facility)

"Thanks Cracka."

Thundercracker paused, didn't say anything, gave him a crooked grin, and nodded. They wouldn't be hanging out at the Energon bar any time soon... But maybe they could be friends one day.

"hey Docs, pretty impressive med bay you got here". He caught sunstorm looking at his decepticon insignia...
"hey uh, can you take care of that purple thing for me?"
"I know who I wanna be now." He thought

Slingshot uses his aft/starboard vent thruster to gently nudge Sunstorm who has spent the last 75 nano-clicks staring into his now meaningless badging. "hey you awake, doc?"

Sunstorm chuckles. "I'm a little surprised you waited this long to have it removed," he says. Then, sobering up a little as recent memories come to mind, he adds, "I guess we've all had more important things to worry about lately." He shakes off the depressing thoughts and tries to sound cheerful again. "Well, the good news is, you're so banged up, these Decepticon badges are practically falling off already." Sunstorm points at one, just barely touching it, and it comes loose and clatters to the floor. "Case in point," he says, while Scalpel moves to collect the scrap and discard it.

An intercom buzzes, and Scalpel answers it. With Kaon's intercom system damaged in the recent battle, the voice is hardly recognizable as Deszaras: "Scalpel, please report to Tarantulus in Vault Gamma 2, repeat, Vault G2." Scalpel glances at Sunstorm, who nodds grimly and wordlessly for the smaller medic to go. After the pounding Kaon recently received, chances are that a call like that means someone hurt too badly to transport to a repair bay.

((Sorry for "godmoding", Deszaras--although if you don't want to confirm that your character sent that message to Scalpel, we may find some interesting possibilities answering the question of who impersonated your namesake, and why, and how...))

As Scalpel departs, Sunstorm returns his attention to Slingshot.
"The bad news is, you're so banged up, you're going to have to wait until after you've undergone some repairs before you can get a proper Autobrand. If you really want, we can arrange something temporary so you're at least showing Autobot faction symbols--give you a quick repaint, or some decals--but I think you ought to concentrate on getting back in working condition first. Let's get started on the repairs. Now, you're not allergic to gold plastic, are you?"

Slingshot laughed, "the thought of gold plastic cracks me up."

((According to http://transformerland.com/forum/viewto ... 7&start=40, Shattered Plastic gold plastic is "TOTALLY IMPERVIOUS to damage" ...which is ironic, not only given the nature of nonfiction gold plastic, but also given that the name of this alternate reality is Shattered Plastic.))

"Oh, gold plastic is no joke," Sunstorm assures his patient patiently. "A lot of Transformers don't believe that g.p. even exists, but it does--it's just extremely rare. It's also highly resistant to damage--virtually indestructible, by some accounts--which is why some medical supplies are made from it. It's too rare and expensive to permanently armor an entire Transformer with it*, but we can use temporary gold plastic braces and patches to reinforce the damaged portions of an injured Transformer, to protect those injuries from further damage while the repairs are in progress and while the Transformer is recovering. Some Transformers are allergic, though--the plastic does not conduct electricity very well, and in some cases even insulates, severely reducing electrical conductivity in damaged areas, so if a Transformer is inadequately powered by non-electrical energy sources, g.p. can do more harm than good. If you've never been tested for a gold plastic allergy before, I think we had better not use any on you--you aren't in any condition to deal with the negative effects of a bad reaction to the g.p. if it turns out you are allergic, and even testing you for g.p. allergy could shut you down."

*((At least, Sunstorm believes that there aren't any Transformers completely armored with--or completely made of--gold plastic...))

"I have quite a bit of damage to set right... and I'm not talking about my fuselage... forget the test. I need to be ready to battle sooner than later. I have many wrongs to undo. Gold me up, doc."
