The meta morpho system

Post by Rhymus »

The meta morpho system is a Cybertronian martial art, analogous to Human practices such as tai chi and yoga. A practitioner of meta morpho is called a morpho (plural: morph). A morpho cultivates peace of mind and intimate knowledge of his/her/its own body through deliberate slow transformation to and from robot mode and alternate mode(s). The theory is that concentrating on transforming slowly can relax and clear the mind, and in that state of meditative relaxation any vital thoughts will be able to flow more freely and easily, while distracting thoughts are banished; furthermore, a morpho called upon to transform under pressure (such as in battle) hopes to be able to both recall the peaceful mindset of meditative transformations, easing the stress of the situation, while simultaneously being able to transform more quickly and smoothly due to the time devoted to studying one's own transformation scheme.

One of the most well-known meta morpho rituals (aside from transforming entirely from one mode to another as if in slow motion) involves entirely transforming only one half of the body (such as only the left side, or only above the waist), then transforming the same half back into its starting form, and then completely transforming only the other half of the body (thus, the right side, or below the waist).

((This idea is derived from a character idea for a Transformer who, rather than being obsessed with what he/she/it transforms into (like G1 Tracks and G1 Sunstreaker), is obsessed with the act of transforming, and thinks it's great fun to transform for no other reason than simply to enjoy transforming. In this respect, this Transformer is rather like some TransFans, including me.))
One shall stand; one shall fall; and the one who stands shall help the one who falls to stand once again.
