Any idea on why some Transformers were made in Japan and some Macau?
I've got two cassettes here, both Eject, one has sticker detail and the others is painted on. Initially, I thought one to be a fake, but both have rubsigns, and have Hasbro/Takara 1986 on them.
I notice that the later cassettes like Beastbox, Slugfest, etc. are made in Macau, and have painted on detail.
When did they stop making things in Japan and which are more valuable?
Also, are there Macau versions of all the cassettes?
Is there a "sticker" version of Ravage?

Painted!
Personally, I like those painted cassettes more, the two versions don't have much difference in terms of quality though.
G1 Transformers,
the incredible creatures,
nothing else can be better,
WE LOVE THEM FOR EVER.

later in the game labour became cheaper in macaui which is where most late G1 Tf's were made. ravage is early g1, so there is a sticker version of him. the story with the paint is it, too became cheaper than printing those foil decals. that and i'm sure it was more favoured by parents who got roped into decal application. there will not be two versions of all cassetes, just those in the transition years, likely 86-87. btw, my dad become a professional decal applier. my advice, get a guy who's into scale car models to do it. that's where he learned.

Regading your question on what more valuable is, not always the Japanese Transformers are more worthy. With reissues, the price has dropped drastically on the early TFs, which are all made in Japan. However, Powermasters stay where they are because they don't seem to be reissued. Same deal with Actionmasters.
I would say it has to do now with desirability, as for quality the G1 always is on the top.
