Just had some contact from FansProject on the Protector Armour for Classics Rodimus.

They said that it will not be released untill 2010 as there are some details to change and final tweeks to make. They also said it wont be released untill they're sure its better than the City Commander set they released this year.

Fingers crossed.

Damn I want it now!!! That Protector armor looks sweet. I've only seen it in trailer mode though.
Is it suppose to be snap on battle armor like the City Commander set?
All that was needed is a catalyst... and the machines of war are set in motion.

Yeah it is the basic idea is taking the Classics Rodimus thats basically Hot Rod and turning him into Rodimus Prime.

This might help

I love those trailer sets. But I need to see some actual photos of this one. I just don't think the car is going to look right as part of it.

I don't think the G1 looked much like a truck; more like a psychadelic winnebago.

Doesn't look like much so far.

I personally don't see whats wrong with titanium rodimus. {Probably much cheaper than hunting down a classics rodimus and then buying the armour set.}

Far cheaper.

A boxed titanium rodimus is almost the same price as a loose classics rodimus.

The titanium series was of poor quality compared to a classics figure.

I thought about getting the Titanium one and I just may still.
But I'll probably still want the Protector armor too...

These are the first color pictures I've seen for him:

The 2nd fin they have going over the car mode does help change the look more.

The Protector set is one of my favorites. I don't really have a holy grail figure - but this comes close!

Fansproject figures and pieces unfortunately don't get cheap over time. They get really frickin' expensive.

I'm kicking myself for not getting a City Commander. Now he goes for hundreds of dollars on ebay. And, i haven't found a less expensive one anywhere else.
