When the Microman toy series was Americanized into the Transformer line, the springs were removed from the missile launchers for safety. Has anyone ever tried to mod a launcher by putting a spring back in?

the spring assemblies were changed as not to hold powerful springs anymore. optimus prime was also modified so his roller launcher only traveled a half inch as opposed to the whole length of that black strip. i have seen primes modded back to full launch ability, but never the missle launchers.

I once modded Soundwave's launcher with a spring from a pen. It definitely improved the launch distance but sometimes the missile would stick.
