Megatron question. 1G or 2G?

I was wondering what was the difference between 1G and 2G Megatrons. I just sold my collection on Ebay, and assumed all were 1G since they were all bought around the early 80's. I now see that there is a 2G Megatron listed on this site, but there is no picture. The buyer of him says he is not a 1G. If I was mistaken, I'll give him a refund, but as far as I recall, Transformers had only just came out when we got them.

G1 Megatron is a chrome Walther P-38 handgun.

The G2 megatron is actually the G1 megatron in a new and improved body. It was built for me by cobra scientists of GI Joe fame. I destroyed Bludgeon and Fortress Maximus with it. Tho the G1 version is the one I prefer.
