Botcon 2011

Post by Galvatron »

Figures to be released in the Botcon 2011 in Pasadena CA are going to be the STUNTICONS!!

http://www.seibertron.com/transformers/ ... led/20897/

Too bad they don't form Menasor.

There is a good chance I might be going to this.
Wish me luck

Loving those Animated Stunticons! 8) A simple kitbash could make an awesome Menasor out of those too! Wish I could attend...but as long as it's not within driving distance I probably won't get the chance.

I suppose I could "rent a car" and make it there on caffeine pills and red bull. Build myself a cosplay blurr outfit, talk really fast about a whole lot of nothing and maybe they'll let me in.

Those are spectacular. It's a HUGE shame they cancelled TFA.

I'm quite taken by Dead End's stache and how Wildrider looks like he's another Lockdown.

Kind of wish it wasn't in Pasadena and I had money and vacation time.

Makes perfect sense that Motormaster's a remold/repaint of Animated Optimus Prime. He kinda looked like that in G1. XD

Have any of you guys been to BotCon?
Optimus: Transfuhm und uttuhk!!

Bumblebee: What did you say?

Optimus: *takes down faceplate* I said transform and attack!!

Nor have I. I live in an unfortunate part of the country with limited funding for long distance expeditions. Still waiting on the day for Botcon to hit Dallas or even Houston then I might have a shot at attending.

To know others you must know yourself first!

The bigger they are the bigger thud they make when they fall!!!

I came up with 1,647 miles to Botcon from my given location. Which would be about a 25 hour drive. I'll be checking on airline package deals (for 4) come next year assuming it's out of range like this years current locale is.

Botcon & G1 AFA Price Info

Post by mbrunn03 »

First post EVER on this site!! I attended Botcon in 2004 for the 20th Ann. Got Peter Cullen to sign, "Roll Out" and his signature in silver pen on my Prime 20th Ann figure. Totally stoked about this year's Botcon. I guess I'm lucky that I live in LA. Looking forward to finally starting my G1 AFA 80 & up MISB collection. I've been saving! Quick question for anyone who might know. What online resource (preferably) or publication is available that can tell me what these toys are worth?? I have an opportunity to purchase G1 Jetfire & Optimus Prime MISB AFA 80 BOTH for $3,000 total. NO idea if I'd be paying too much. Any help on this would be GREATLY appreciated.

Welcome to the boards mbrunn03! I hope to run into the legend Peter Cullen one day myself for some possible autograph hounding. :D As for an AFA market value resource site you might want to try http://www.toymarketreport.com/ .There might be other sites out there that can help but I'm just not aware of them.

AFA graded prices are kinda tricky to pin down, since not many people bother to have even their nicest toys AFA'd.
Also, beware what you buy: AFA has graded chinese fakes as real in the past: http://highendtfs.com/?q=node/5
Also, there are even AFA-fakes: places that make it LOOK like a figure has been AFA graded. http://highendtfs.com/?q=node/42
Spend wisely, and good luck!
