Anybody out there have a Metal Force Optimus Prime?

Post by IDontThinkSoTim »

I've wanted one of these for years and years. I've never seen one in person and rarely online.

BUT, if any of you have one, and have a Masterpiece Optimus, any chance of a picture of them side by side? I've been dying to see them together since the Masterpiece first had pictures released online.

What is this "Metal Force Optimus Prime" of which you speak? TFWiki doesn't know, either, as far as i can tell. From your questions, i'm guessing it's some kind of variant/reissue of Masterpiece OP?

It's a non-transforming die cast cartoon accurate Prime. It's pre-masterpiece by a few years. I can't remember the company that made them off the top of my head, but it's not Takara. It's about 12" or so. Actually, I was googling for an image while typing this, and I found one of it with MP Prime. But it's small and it's probably the cached thumbnail since all the images on the page are dead. Here's the google cache:

Quoting links that way stretch the screen too much. Jose.

I'm fairly sure it's licensed. I guess it's like a bigass diecast action master. It's got articulation and accessories, just doesn't transform.

I have one. It's the metallic version. I got very, very lucky about two years and got it in mint condition for a low price. Here's comparison pics of it along side with Masterpiece Prime.
He looks faded, but that was his actual paint sheme. My son got him out the other day and has lost one of his smokestacks. :(

I cannot find his laser rifle either. He is as you can see by the pics almost as tall as the masterpiece version. He also has a removeable leadership matrix.

***NOTICE: Just looked on ebay...there are 2 listed, buy it now..kind expensive: $275.

Thanks for the pics! His head mold is so much better than the Masterpiece Prime. Faceplate looks a little flat, but I always thought the head on Masterpiece was crappy all around.

I just reread your post. I thought you'd said the whole figure was crappy all around. I guess I disagree with you on the head, but it's less shocking that someone thinking MP Prime was crappy all around :P
