g1 black megatron reissue help

I bought this on amazon.com. I was so proud of it that i showed my friends. The other day i was turning megatron back into a gun but noticed the chest piece that goes over the barrel would not snapmback down. Any ideas on how to fix this. I have tried to look at it but dont want to break anything else.
