Please help me find this Transformer guy, can't identify it

When I was young I did only had one transformer because we weren't very rich...
My question is who is this guy? and is it a REAL transformer or a fake? (looks real, but still parents always bought the fake stuff)






And what did he do? was he in the TV series?
