whassa name of that ship again, desz? it reminds me of the big twin-engine nightfighters of WWI, with the big forward swept wings, rear facing gun cockpit, and wide tail with rudders on the outside.

nightshade: i love the lightning-2 almost as much as i love the lightning 1 (P-38)! Where'd you get the awesome black-painted one?

it an imperial marauder destroyer [from warhhamer 40,000]

this is the official description:

Marauder Destroyer

The Marauder Destroyer is a ground-attack bomber aircraft used by the Imperial Navy in the Warhammer 40,000 universe. Its role in-game is to support Imperial troops on the ground by low-level bombing and strafing enemy positions similar to the A-10 Warthog.

The Destroyer does not carry as many bombs as its counterpart. Instead, it has six nose-mounted autocannons for strafing enemy ground positions (similar to the B-25 Mitchell medium bombers modified for strafing in the Pacific Theater of WWII). For defense, it retains the twin-heavy bolter turret behind the cockpit, but the tail turret's weaponry is upgraded to twin-assault cannons.

[A heavy bolter is a high calliber machine gun, An assault cannon is a large minigun, and an autocanon is a high calliber weapon similar to anti tank guns from WWI.]

So it is like the two seat fighter-bombers from WWII :D
And like many of them, including the bf-110 i pictured, it has a UGAP (ugly ground attack plane) variant. Don't worry, we love our UGAPs... unfortunately, the last of the UGAPs, the A-10 is going into retirement.... only multi-role fighters now :(

Is that some sort of newfangled celica?

I could pick so many, depending on the type of vehicle.

If my alt mode was a car, I would so be this;

Image
For anyone who doesn't know, it's a Pininfarina Mythos - a Ferrari concept car that never got made in production in the end. It's just stunning.

Also, this would make a great TF alt car mode;
Image
Again, it's a Pininfarina concept car designed for Maserati this time and it's called the Birdcage. :? :lol: Cool car though.

If my alt mode was a jet aircraft, I would have to choose between either;

It's the guessed images at Aurora, the "unconfirmed" US spy aircraft. Probably looks nothing like it, but the images are very 8) .

or

The A10 Warthog. I've always loved this aircraft...

such a cool topic. I'll be sure to think of some more :D

It's a celica yes, new fangled? no. I have seen celicas just like that driving around here. I also have commented, to Mark I believe, that I have seen them with no spolier and at least 3 types of spoiler.

it does have side skirts and lower front and rear bumpers from a standard Celica. I think the bonnet vent is different too....

I didn't know myself, until one day I noticed whilst playing Forza 2 that the car looked really similar... then it just dawned on me that they were exactly the same, bar a few basic line differences.

Here's a pontiac - if you see past the differing bonnet cuts and raises, the silhouette, light shape, window shape etc are all identical;

Wow, good eye! Although I must admit that I like the look of the Vauxhall better. Oh and I am going to have to get my copy of Forza 2 out now!
