SO A BUNCH OF MAGIC HAPPENS and now they're all there, mysteriously, suddenly un-transmetalized, and running around with severe brain trauma, and cybertron has been swapped out with an organic placebo, thus defeating the purpose of transformers and ignoring all previous material, all while staying in the same show premise. YAY!

Those are a lot better explainations than what the series showed.It showed the cavemen loading him on a catupult and launching him into space.They didn't have that kind of technology then and how could they have launch him into space without fuel.

hey astro train if u want the answer no its not revealled, but if u watch the episode of beast machines where black aricnea tries to find silver bolt in thrust its turns out to be waspanator and he tells her how he got back to cibertron.

Beast Machines' excuse is that he was launched into space with a tree/catapult and flew back to Cybertron on his own, taking millennia in the process, all while not running out of Energon. So its roughly as plausible as the rest of the rest of the storyline.
