Yes, the American run started as a four issue mini, and then continue with issue #5.

There were various other mini's along the way, such as the Head Masters series, and the GI Joe crossover which majorly affected the comic continuity (Transformers, but not so much the Joe side).

in fact, brawn, the final issue of the US G1 comic, #80, says at the top of its cover:

"#80 of a four-issue limited series"

1 U.S. comic equalled two U.K. comics. The U.K. comic ended with issue 332. The longest running toy tie in comic ever!! Amen Transformers.

Can anybody tell me at which point the UK comics began inserting all NEW material? I'd like to pick them all up, but don't need to duplicate #1-80 US.

Thanks!

They interspersed the UK only content throughout the run. If you give me long enough, I could find or make a list... Don't forget, the UK issues were bi-weekly, so each US issue was actually TWO UK issues... it's a mess.

I'd *really* appreciate it, TT. I've been looking for a list, but haven't found one yet.

Sooooo.... I was trying to cop out of actually going through every issue and determining its content, and i managed to find this, a review at amazon:

http://www.amazon.com/gp/richpub/syltgu ... 40IJ81W7M5

He lists which comics contained no new content (from the US series), and which UK only stories have been reprinted in modern trade paperbacks. If you're having a lot of trouble hunting down the missing UK material, PM me ;)
