*Raises Hand*

Post by Time Traveller »

I do, Silverbolt, here's why:
Cars slagging rock. Sim Pilot or not, Me-262 or not, cars will always roxor my soxors more than planes. PLUS, there's enough variety that the 'cons won't all have to be F-15's til the end of time! I mean the Dassault Mirages are a nice touch, but they still only go so far.

Here's my problem: the seekers shouldn't be ugly-ass japanese cars. They should be something more fitting to their personalities. For example, in my long-ago-suggested 70's Hot Rod Heyday cast, letting the seekers be cars would open up some great possibilities: Skywarp as a black-with-purple-flames '67 Camaro with giant meats, and a flagrantly large NOS tank in the trunk. The perfect punk car, for those meathead jocks like Skywarp who love to drive around showing off and picking on kids like Bumblebee who drive VWs.

Starscream as a Ferrari Enzo Ferrari? I think so. Fast, Jetlike styling (thanks to being styled after F1 cars which are in turn styled with jetlike aerodynamics), advanced technology, and promoting of an aloof, arrogant attitude. Plus, seeing that car in two-tone instead of straight red all the time would be a relief.

Dirge as a hearse? This gets better and better!

It's unfortunate that the Japanese picked the ugliest car I have seen in the 6 figure bracket in a long time.

I like it it... but then again I have always liked cars the general public dislikes.
cars on the cusp of style and design which will have a point or two of the garish design lend itself to something else much more successfully.

and my old car fetish really only goes back to the 80s... and I'm not too into American cars... unless they become robots.

edit: I have to add upon looking at my pic there again.. lol

the scoops and cut lines and little winglets all hint at serious aerodynamics like a jet (aerodynamics and fluid dynamics excite me...) I bet it in truth an old Volvo wagon has a better Cd...

why is this in non transformers toy talk???
lol

the raise hand pic is pretty good though right? lol

Whoops! Clicked the wrong area. Good catch, Bolt!
There are indeed cars that I love that are on the cusp of design with a touch of garish, but then there are cars that walk on their hands, doing the splits naked, for attention. I don't much care for those.

A car design that "hints at serious jetlike aerodynamics" while not doing the aerial splits naked, and would be quite seekerly in an alteriny setting, is the ItalDesign Cala.

Guess what year?

Also, modern jets, say, the F-22 (movie seekers!) are pretty sleek... they don't have hundreds of twisty turny ridges running all over their surface... I swear, there's not a straight line in the car your sig pictures! The crankshaft is probably even helical!

you do know what Dirge means, yes?

in case you don't

A dirge is a somber song expressing mourning or grief, such as would be appropriate for performance at a funeral.

ergo Dirge hearse.

Right, so, I think Alternity Skywarp looks simply GORGEOUS.

I'd buy it.

I gotta side with Silverbolt here.

This is a classic car styling fan, calling for backup! Now that Jag (minus the midget hearse part) is gorgeous!
