Pawn Stars
For any of you who watch Pawn Stars on the History channel next Monday the show will be featuring someone who tries to sell their huge G1 collection. It airs at 10/9C.
"Make deals, not war!"
Makes me wonder how much the pawn stars know about transformers. I doubt they know who is who and which accessories go with each. Which would mean they should bring an expert. But since Chumley is there I wonder if they did, or just him and Cory went. If its just Cory and Chum I think the guy will get a real low ball offer.
I sure hope he doesn't let Chumley handle them before selling.

Of course there is something to be said for a quick easy sale. If he does list them on ebay at auction he could get just as little as a pawn store offers. And ebay & paypal would take their cut. So thats 18% or so off that. If he lists them buy now he might get full value but in 6 months he'll probably still have some of them listed from a lot that size. The guy is an idiot if he thinks he will get anything good from a pawn shop. Hasn't he heard of Ebay?!

Not to mention the risk he would run from scammers on Ebay, since there's NO seller protection anymore. But I digress.
I doubt the Pawn Stars crew will buy this. From all the other collection offers I've seen, it'll go something like this:
PS: "So, whaddya want for them?"
TFGuy: "How about $15k?"
PS: "How about no?"
TFGuy: "But they're worth $20k!"
PS: "Maybe, but theres a crapload of them. They'll take up a bunch of space in my store, and take a long time to sell. Besides, this knucklehead Chumlee here will probably break at least 20% of them. I can give you $2k."
TFGuy: "Uhh, that's way too low. How about $13K?"
PS: "How about $3k. Final offer."
TFGuy: "Errr, you're nuts. I'll sell them to Trance for $7k."

I see a storage locker in that guy's future. No way he sells them quick.
Man what a collection. (1000?) transformers I think he said. $20K seems a low value unless most aren't complete. 2 fort max, like 6 Piranacon. He seemed to have more G1 scorponok than twintwists. How many of each does that guy need? Still, asid from the jumpstarters, I cannot think of many transformers that wouldn't be worth more than $20 complete. Seems like either it should be worth much more, or there are a lot less than 1000 figures.
