Transformers 3 DOTM *beware, spoilers may make appearances*

By now, everyone knows shockwave is in the movie. I must come right out and say this, he IS the coolest and best looking character of all three movies! Im a huge fan of shockwave, and even though his character isnt portrayed the way I wanted it to be, he was so awesome looking. I friggin loved the movie, and it truly is the best of the three.

I liked alot of things about it, except for some of the deaths in the movie. I didnt understand some of them, and I was even more perturbed, about my favorite character. That being said, it was still great, and absolutely worth both times that ive seen it.

Did anyone else notice who voiced Sentinel Prime? And im really happy that Frank Welker voiced some characters, IE Shockwave! and Soundwave. Even though hes not the original shockwave, it was still cool.

Sentinel Prime is voice by Leonard Nemoy AKA Mr. Spock on the original Star Trek and Galvatron in the 1986 movie. Best choice for a main antagonist ever.

I hear you about Shockwave, I would have enjoyed it more if he was cool and logical like the G1 interpretation and I don't really understand the big worm thing, but he was very well done and interesting.

I liked everything about the movie except the character of Sam and honestly I blame the actor. I saw him in another movie (Wall Street Money Never Sleeps) and he was pretty much the same character. But really even Shia didn't ruin the movie for me. I agree, this is the best of the three, but also it would not have been so without the other two despite the fact that I disliked them both.

I thought the new Shockwave was refreshing. He's kinda like the Decepticon version of the Terminator. He won't kill you unless he's assigned to or you get in the way of his goals.

At least, that's what I got from the confrontation with Optimus in the beginning. But I do wish he'd been in Africa with Megatron, Starscream, Soundwave, and Laserbeak.

Speaking of which, they totally could've gone with a G1 line in that scene, with Laserbeak coming back.

Soundwave: Laserbeak returns, Lord Megatron.
Megatron: Ah, Laserbeak. Unlike some of my warriors, you never fail me. *glares pointedly at Starscream*

OK. Spoilertastic rant.

I think Shockwave is IMPLIED to be super-logical and such. Consider:
It was totally engineered that the Autobots would find out about the Ark engine part in Russia, and Shockwave threw the fight so they would get away with the part and go looking for the Ark. Why?
They needed to trick Optimus into reviving Sentinel, so he could run the space bridge for them. They'd already been to the ship, gathered all but a few of the bridge pylons, and left just enough on the ship to make the Autobots think they'd really found something, even though they'd made off with crates of hundreds of the damn things. Due to the points where and how Shocky makes his appearances, I think he was in charge of figuring out how exactly they could get Optimus to revive Sentinel without making it obvious that something was amiss. They had me going the whole time, for sure! Megatron doesn't seem capable of that kind of in-depth planning. I guess I wouldn't be either if I had insecticons in my brain.

Ironhide: WTF! But seriously, a cosmic rust rifle? Bad ass. I find it interesting that the Weapons Specialist falls victim to such a non-standard weapon. What more closure can you give it than your entire body turning to dust and blowing away? Not much!

WE NEED A TOY OF SOUNDWAVE.

I also think they could have done more with the wreckers. They turned out to be less offensive than i suspected, so I feel they were underused. As was Dino/Mirage. Wheeljack/Que could have gotten a more thorough treatment, but it didn't really take much to see what he was about.

WE NEED A TOY OF WHEELJACK. Classics or movie, either will do.

I was disappointed that the only secret ending was Simmons playing grabass with that gov't woman. I was actually left wanting another movie, so I was hoping for a secret cliffhanger.

I agree on all of your points TT. I didnt understand the whole Q/Wheeljack thing. I think they could have done without him and add some depth to some of the other characters. I was so blown away by ironhide getting shot that I was having trouble processing everything that was going on. It was incredible. Sam didnt bother me quite as much this time, because he wasnt entirely the main character. His parents had no need to be in the movie though.

I totally agree with you as well, TT.

I really liked the overall plot, but some things were really predictable. However, what I did not predict and what came as a shock was that Ironhide died! In the most horrible way too! :(

I "LoL'ed" at this. But considering they were touted to be the twins replacements for this movie. I was looking to be offended more too.

FOR THE RECORD....
the Novelization says that the twins also die horrible, painful, and non-racist deaths by Sent's cosmic rust rifle. Awesome. In my mind, they're still writhing in pain.

Although Michael Bay tried to have Wheelie and Brains (?) be a substitute for the twins, they didn't get a big enough part in the movie to reach that level of stupid.

I actually thought the presense of Sam's parents actually added some depth to the movie as Sam is worried about global armageddon and wants to protect them. His mom was just as stupid as ever, but I really like Kevin Dunn as an actor and was pleased to see him again.

I thought Ironhide's death was the most classy and emotion ridden death in the TF movieverse. If Bee had died I would have been bawling my eyes out however.

I had mentioned to TT that the thing that I enjoyed the most in this movie was all of the random cameos and small bits by famous people and other well known actors.

John Malkovich as Sam's boss
Ken Jeong as that random paranoid Decepticon supporting office guy
Bill O'Reily
Barrack Obama
John F. Kennedy
and of course Buzz Aldrin as himself!

There were more too. That's what made the movie for me. That and Nimoy's spectacular performance.
