hmmmm - seeing the 2 different Hasbro 20th anniversary primes there has made me see another difference other than the blue gun/black gun thing - the one on the left has black shading on areas of his red, like dirt and wear, and the other is a clean red... I have the shaded variant with a black gun. Des - can you confirm your blue gun variant has no black shading on its red areas?SentinelPrime878 wrote:Didn't really see this before, but the way I put Fortress in the case on the top shelf, looks like he is decapitated!

with thanks to Seibertron for the pic.
here are the variants of that Prime.
from left to right
Magnus, 20th Ann. (with battle damage), 20th Ann DVD (came in classics style box, worst version of this figure, has orange red paint rather than the deep red of all the others), the last 2 are the MP Primes and are identical as far as I recall.

I've got the worst (and read cheapest) of them. No DVD though.
Back to fort max though. Mine looks like that all the time without the blocking cabinet (as I don't have his head)

I got mine on clearance as well. (mostly for the G1 megatron gun). Why call him DVD prime if he don't have a DVD. Maybe he's just an RID (robot in distress).

Yeah, that was a pretty stupid marketing decision on their part...
Though I personally found the lack of an instruction booklet for a fairly complicated, $80 MSRP 'toy' even more abhorrent. They could have at *least* put a slip of paper pointing to the instructions available on their website...
And don't get me started on the hell I endured while extricating him from his twist-tie bondage. Robot In Distress indeed. Ohhh, how I miss styrofoam.

Odd. I had instructions in mine. The cable tie thing is easy if you've got a set of wire cutters...
