I'm new Here and selling my collection - don't know how.

Post by 72Mark »

Hello All,

I figured you are the experts and I hope I am doing this properly and not breaking any rules. When I was a kid I loved transformers (G1).

When I was ready, I put them away safely as collectables. Now that I am a new dad (yay!) and have been cleaning out the house, it is time for me to sell off the collection. I stopped following transformers when the first movie came out. This is also when I stopped buying the toys.

So, would selling directly to you on these forums be better than just putting them on ebay?

Are Generation 1 transformers even wanted? I see a lot of people wanting reissues and G2 etc.

Just to test the waters I put one on ebay. It may be against the rules here, so I wont link the auction (you can search for my optimus prime) This is an indication of their condition. I was an extremely picky child with my toys, so I took care of them and didn't lose the parts.

Any help suggesting how I begin to sell these would be greatly appreciated.

Best regards,

Mark

Yeah, give us lots of pics! A couple advantages of offering them here is you won't have to pay eBay fees or deal with dead-beat bidders or ones that like to jerk you around.

Hello,

Thank you for the reply.
It will take me quite some time to post all the pictures and get them up.
I had a fairly extensive collection of the G1 stuff.

If you are looking for anything in particular I can get those pics up first.

thanks!

Mark,

if you want to sell them as a complete collection, try contacting our board/shop owner Trance. He buys collections from collectors.

You can PM him from the link in his profile here

Do you think I would come out better selling them as complete transfomers individually or as a set?

Im basically trading one older hobby for another.

Everything I can get for my transformers is going into my 1946 coupe

If you have a Fortmax with at least Spike and Cerebros included for a reasonable price (not at the cost of an arm,leg or child) i might be interested.

I have uploaded part of the collection in the for sale thread. Please let me know what you are interested in and we can talk =)

Thanks all!

ps:
This is an EXTREME longshot, but I am also willing to do some trades for 99+ LS1 engine parts, 2002+ vortec 5.3 engine parts, and matching 4l60e transmissions, wiring harnesses, and ECMs.

Ha, I'd list what the others are, but I have completely forgotten most of the names. As these go, I'll be able to get down toward the bottom of the box.

some are missing! Like shockwave, I know I had him, but can't find it =(

You can use the ID archive of Transformerland.

Hi Commander,

I put pics up of some of what I have in the for sale thread.
I believe I do indeed have a scourge.
Please look over the picture and PM what you think would be fair for him.

Additionally, like all the ones I have listed, I should have the original instructions and stat cards for them.

Thanks!

The Scourge you have isn't the one I am after. I'm in search of the Targetmaster Scourge.

Oh sorry about that.
Honestly, I didn't know there were two versions.

Cyclonus, Scourge, Hotrod, Kup and Blurr were all made into Targetmasters. Hasbro had the molds already and only had to make the hand holes bigger for the guns to fit into. making them a lot of money from a mold that cost them nothing. Good business I guess.
