Dinobot loving newbie in need of help
Hello all, I'm a long time lover of our transforming pals; it all started for me in 1984 with a G1 Gears which I was given as a birthday present.
Anyway, as a lot of folks like me (mid life crisis!) do, I've been looking in my loft and found Snarl, amongst other transformers. He's in much better condition than I thought he'd be, and still has both sword and cannon. However, his front legs (dino mode) are not too good at all, and really need replacing. I don't really want to shell out for a whole new Snarl, as I've seen the cost of 'em! However, I'd love to restore him to some sort of glory, even if not his full G1 mint magnificence. Anyone who knows where spare dinobot legs can be found at reasonable prices will win my "hero of the day" award!
Ta muchly,
Uncletrunx

Well, a quick consultation with kid brother (who is more mechanically minded than me) has revealed that it's not a multiple leg replacement which is needed; it's new springs for the legs. These, I hope, will be significantly easier to source than whole new legs. I'll pop a picture up once he's done.
Thanks for the help though folks, it really is appreciated.

I don't know if they did a KO Snarl. I do know that as a temporary measure, I've made a replacement spring using one from a free pen (banking with Barclays has some benefits!)
It's far from perfect but it means the leg doesn't hang off uselessly.
Next up is the Grimlock restoration. I need to get new weapons for him, as the old ones were lost in the sand pit many years ago. The adult me looks down on the child I was for playing so brutally with the dinobots!

just been ready both yours and ramjets problems with snarls legs is it the dino legs or the robot legs ?
if both can let me know which youve got problems with, i might be able to help yer (ive got junker parts here, includeing a front end of snarl).
also is it the clear plastics version or the smoke effect plastics version ? (the front end i have is the origanal clear plastics)

It's the version with gold front legs, grey body and darker clear plastic head. It's the dino legs at the front which are a bit dodgy; as I say, it's just the springs which need replacing but any help you could provide will be most gratefully welcomed.catgut wrote:hiya and welcome.
