Diaclone Hilux / Blue Trailbreaker

Post by Perceptor »

Hopefully I'm not putting this thread in the wrong place! (Or breaking any rulz!)

A while back I asked y'all about a Blue Trailbreaker that I got off eBay. If you don't remeber, here are some pics:
http://h1.ripway.com/Niceguy/TB2.JPG
http://h1.ripway.com/Niceguy/TB3.JPG

You told me that it was, in fact, a Diaclone, Hilux.

Well, I wanted to let y'all know that I've decided to put it on eBay.
The lot # is: 300295866011, and the acution will run from 2/23/09 - 8:00 PM PST to 2/27/09 8:00 PM PST.

Now I'm not posting about it here just to pump up the price (I think that might be against the rules? Not sure.) Actually, I wanted to offer you guys a deal.:

If you WIN the auction, I am willing to negotiate a trade: If you have a COMPLETE, G1 Trailbreaker in decent condition to trade, I will deduct the negotiated price for it from the final, total selling price of my Hilux.

No promises now! - I'll want to see pics, and if you want $100 for a beat up, worn-out, no decals, POS, then I'm afraid you'll end up paying full price. But if you offer me a square deal (something along the line of... $50, without Specs and Instructions?) I'd very much like to make a deal. That price BTW is just an average of about a dozen or so that I tracked last year, ranging from $40 to $80, some of the higher ones of which DID include the Specs and Instructions. If you want more, just send me pics and make an offer. We can talk.

(And once again - if you do bid, don't do so assuming that we'll be able to work out the trade, because we may not end up agreeing on a deal. I'll try to be reasonable, but times are tough here too. No one's expected to GIVE anything away! Forewarned/forearmed and all that.)

Stupid question? How do you know ahead of time what your auction # will be?

I'm assuming you haven't listed yet, since the item # comes up as invalid...

Have you sold it already, or do I need to go hunting for my Trailbreaker box?

Does he have the *original* weapons AND driver? Or?

No, the auction still starts this Monday. I know the lot # because I always schedule the start of my auctions, instead of having them start right away. (That way they can end on a Friday or Saturday evening, when all the watchers are at home trying to out-snipe each other at the last minute.) It costs and extra 10 cents, but it's well worth it since most of the action happens in the last 10 minutes or so. (So you don't want your watchers asleep or at work or soemplace else!)

As to your questions... I'm sorry, but I have no idea. The weapons are "original" as far as I know... I got this lot off of eBay in the first place, so I'm not 100% sure. All I can say is that while they're in good shape, the chrome wear and soft edges seem appropriate for 1984-85 time frame. But they are more likely TRAILBREAKER'S as opposed to HILUX's weapons. I really don't know what stuff Hilux came with. (Anyone here know?) And no, there's no driver. What you see is what you get.

So it's a Hilux figure with enough stuff to make a complete Trailbreaker.

OK did a little more research... Here's a guide: http://diaclone.net/orid/dia040/index.html

The FISTS are definitely Hilux's. They're BLUE not BLACK like TB's are.

The Missles, Sensor and Double-Blasters look exactly the same as TB's - so... Sure, I guess they're original. Why not?

Oh yeah, and the decals are also legit. Looks like the blue one DID get black stickers. (And the black version got yellow ones, and the yellow one got black ones. Wierd.)

But still no driver. :(

But that dark blue one in the link above? That's EXACTLY what I have!

Cool, thanks. As a heads up, there's a GREAT free program call auctiva that lets you create listings, hosts LARGE images, AND schedules... all for FREE. You don't get the pre-ordained item #, but that's a tiny tradeoff for everything else you get. Check it out, I switched from Turbo Lister several years ago and never looked back.

As long as you are willing to ship first class, I could be trying to give to it a shot.

I don't believe I will have too much bidding power. The crisis has reached me too, and more if I consider there are certain items (locally) I'm lurking...

Re the Argentinian bidder - you all know what this means, do you?
