does anyone live next to a walmart?!?

Post by Overlord »

so, anyone willing and able to help a fellow decepticon...

...there are no crappy walmarts near Manhattan, and the ones that are are impractical to get to unless by car. I don't have a car, nor a license, as I have no need for either.

I'd really like to procure the walmart exclusive powerglide, and perhaps hasbro skywarp...anyone willing to check for me on their next trip?

Thanks. 8)

I work for walmart, but I'm shit broke right now. I have a package to send out for captainamerica, but I can't do that until I get paid.

January sucks, I'm down to almost 20 hours at work and I have bills to pay! Not to mention that NEST figures have released, and Transformers G1 Season 2 Volume 2 releases at the end of the month. I also have to buy books for college and gas - and my phone, and my server rental and my website... it's gonna be a tough winter.

My Wal-Mart is flooded with MP Skywarps. Around a dozen or so last time I checked. I haven't checked to see if they have a Powerglide but last night I did pick up ROTF Voyager Bludgeon. Woohoo! I could help you out but I'd need the funds first to cover the sales price and the shipping. As I'm broke right now too

I already have an extra WalMart Powerglide in hand, Overlord. If you send me your zip, I can see how much it'd be to ship to Manhattan... probably a little more than if you find somebody on the East Coast though.

I *was* going to suggest that you buy the Skywarp from Walmart.com, but I don't see it listed on their website anymore... which kind of ticks me off since, IIRC, it was rolled back to $50.00 there, and our semi-local store is sitting on about 20 of them that they refuse to roll back from $60.00. Funny that they'll price match OTHER stores, but won't price match themselves.

I can pick one up the next time I'm up that way if you want, though I'm also fairly positive that they'll be at least rolled back, and possibly clearanced relatively soon.

Why their local retailers won't match the online price is beyond me. I gave up hoping they would hit clearance though so I broke down and spent $60.

Yeah, it's ridiculous... I spent $60 for one in Oregon (no tax) because I was afraid he'd disappear as fast as Starscream did (though didn't Starscream retail at $45-50 to begin with?)... Then, three weeks later I spent $50ish for one in Oregon again, because he'd been rolled back.

And now, my local store (8.3% sales tax) is sitting on about 20 of them, and refused to price match their website (I was going to buy another as a gift). It's obvious NO ONE around here wants to buy them...

So, I'm gleefully waiting for the day when those, and the AT ST exclusive go on clearance (there are TWENTY NINE of those!!), so I can scalp the hell out of them.

Walmart won't match the prices for their online store, nor other stores in the area. Walmart stores do not comp each other's prices. The idea with the walmart.com prices being lower is for you to buy it online. Somethings are much cheaper, plus FREE shipping to any store with Site2Store. Somethings may be cheaper online, but then the shipping charges...

Trust me, I get complaints that walmart.com is cheaper and we don't match it.

There's a REASON you get complaints... it's an inane policy! I understand not matching prices between stores... but it's just SILLY that WalMart doesn't match the online price, considering you can have it SITE2STORED for free.

Sooo... two or three weeks ago, when my store had 15 MP Skywarp's on the shelf for $60 versus $50 online... WalMart *really* wants to go through the extra hassle of shipping a 16th to my store? Yeah, that makes sense.

I've never had a retailer match their online prices if they were different from the store. Although granted some of them don't have free shipping to the store.

I'd love to get this figure, but I don't want to spend more than $50 total. Of course I don't care about boxed, so I've been watching for used ones on ebay. But I don't really expect to see any used for months at least.

Sadly none of the store around me really ever put transformers on clearance. Kmarts still had some universe cheetors full price last time I was there, granted that was before Christmas.

Online is the way to go for this figure. I just won a new one on ebay for $40 shipped! And amazon has several buy now new ones for $45 shipped in their individual sellers section.

I just got a few of MP Skywarps at a discounted price....[althou no $20. bucks]

So if you still need make me an offer.

I could also check to see if they have any Powerglides left if you like.
Today is a good day to die.....but the day is not yet over!

Man I wished I lived near one of those Walmarts! Like I said I've never seen any transformers go on clearance near me. Certainly not such a cool one!
