Yes, but Magnus has explained on several occasions that he really doesn't want to lead. I'll agree that the Fort Max of the comics wouldn't make a very good leader, but I would actually choose Rodimus over Magnus.

out of Fort Max and Magnus, if I had to vote I would say Magnus.

FM just sat around and then did the whole magic sword guff in the headmasters cartoon.

Bad idea. No matrix, no cell # if he gets in deep, nothin. Nothing personal RP, i know you didn't write the show.
Besides FM's epics in the comics, including splattering Galvatron all over the Canadian Shield, he also sticks around AFTER headmasters as the beefed-up Grand Maximus, and bails God Ginrai's ass out at least once.

And I'll have it known that requiring Fortress to be in balance with himself before allowing him to transform and connect to the ridiculously powerful Maximus is a good idea. And he's usually pretty rational about it too, no "Open, dammit! Open!".

I love UM to death, but i think he's best as a right hand man, and model soldier, than as a full-time leader.

Inferno made a good point to me last night, that in the comic he's a pretty fair leader until humans get involved.

Good point. In one of the uk comic stories "Fire on HIgh" he is fighting Galvatron and K.Os him! But he met a girl and decides to go and make sure that she is ok before he deals with Galvatron. BIG MISTAKE!!! Galvatron recovered while Magnus was deciding what to do. As the comic put it; "He hesitstes for a moment.....and is lost" Galvatron Transformed into his cannon and blasted him!! Tho I still think that Magnus would be better than Fortress Maximus.

Actually TT was referring to Fort Max. What I said was that in the comics he became a much worse leader after Spike binary bonded to him. Then he was basically whining about being a human Transformer for the rest of the comics. Just about every character in Masterforce is a human Transformer and they don't complain, they just suck it up and kick butt.

But Max is an amazing leader without Spike involved.

There you go, I agree with inferno. The "human factor" is the major draw back for Fortress Maximus.

I am glad that I opened this again, there has been a lot of discussion and healthy debate.

If everyone is done then Ultra Magnus wins it 4-2.
