GTA IV, anyone?
I don't know about you guys, but I've been waiting very patiently for this game. My copy arrived this morning and I had to manage to resist opening it and starting it so I could come to work
I really can't wait to start it.... has anyone else bought this already? If anyone is up for an online lobby this weekend, give me a holler

Beyond that it costs money.Sunstorm wrote:What is it about GTA you don't like, Des?
1. I never liked the older ones. My freind was mad on them but I dispised them.
2. I still haven't completed burnout paradise. One free roaming game at any one time is enough.
3. Soon I'll be able to [finally] play Unreal tournament 3. (and dawn of war soulstorm, so really I have no interest in buying any game until gears of war 2 is released)

I suppose it totally depends on what you want from a game.... for me, the GTA series is one of the few huge franchise games that still feels like your "sticking it to the man" every time you play it. If EA manage their take two takeover, GTA IV could be the last of the great GTAs before real-world ads and such creep in.....
Although I haven't even played this new one yet, by all accounts it's quite something. Every review describes an emotional connection with the main character I can only remember hearing when I first read about Shenmue on the Dreamcast. And that was also one of my favourite games too
I just can't wait to finish work! Late night tonight = inevitable

Haven't got it yet but plan too that's for sure. Buying a PS3 has been put on hold as I've been purchasing other things (TF's) lol...
Let us know what you think of it SS, I can't wait to play it, all the others were great and had recently re-started San Andreas while waiting for the new release. Must put a hold on TF purchases and get me a PS3 with GTA4!!!

I don't have any kind of Playstation, but I think this will give you an idea of what do I think about the GTA games: Everytime I finish an assignment in my job, on my real life, I think of "Respect +" or "$530,000", whatever. Even when I hop on a car I like to imagine there is a small subtitle saying the name of the car and neighborhood.

played it on the 360. Pretty good, they have fixed up the combat and navigation really well. Which i like. GTA3 and Vice City had terrible combat controls. I didn't play GTA:SA, so I can't comment on that.
I also like how they are handling the wanted/cop meter now, where the police have a zone that they search for you in, and you can escape that zone to get the heat off.
Also, watch out for the awesome drunk walking simulation.
