Today is the 7th yr. aniversary of the tragic 911 attack on the twin towers in NYC. Even after 7 years it's still a sad day. I can still vividly remember where I was and watching the tragedy unfold live. The actual falling of those landmark buildings still is shocking. I have been watching some of the footage being played today and I'm still in shock!
I am curious to hear from the rest of you as to your feelings and where you were when the twin towers fall. I was working as a produce manager for our local grocery store, when I first heard about the attacks. I did not have anyone friends or relatives that live in NYC. Did any of you have relatives or friends that did? Or worked in the buildings? If so, my heart goes out to you and them and their families.
Take a few minutes out of your busy day today and stop and say a prayer for the innocent people who lost their lives this day seven years ago. And hug your loved ones and call your parents and brothers or sisters and tell them the same. May God Bless You All!!! God Bless America!

i remember exactly where i was. i was working in a rv factory at the time and we had the radio on. we thought it was a joke by the morning show. then the second plan hit and everything in the plant stoped. one of the ladies on my line had a brother that was going to be in a meeting in the towers that morning. fortunatly he did not make the meeting that morning. our owners shut down the plant for 3 days and told us all to go home to our families and my whoel family met together at my grandparents house and watched everything happen. and lance you are not alone it is still a very sad day.
I can't imagine how it must have felt for Americans, especially, the citizens of New York and people close to and connected somehow to the tragedy.
I remember I was in my music area and I had the tv on. As it was afternoon here, as soon as the first plane hit, it was instantly on our tv channels. I was instantly knocked back, I just felt totally emotionless. I was partly not able to believe it was real and partly feeling utterly devestated and sick to the bottom of my heart.
Obviously the casualties had many nationalities so it hit a lot of people all over the world very hard. I think about it every now and then and it sends a chill down my spine. For me, the whole thing is too horrific to conclude with words.
I was in bed when it happened. My youngest son had just been born three weeks prior. I was still taking time from my day job, but was working bartending at night, just to have a little extra cash. I stirred a bit when the Today show reported an "accident" where the first plane hit. Then my wife shrieked when she saw the second plane hit. I will never forget the noise that came out of her. At that point I was awake!
Then the news came in about the pentagon (roughly an hour and a half from me). Then the other airliner that was brought down in a field in PA. I started to wonder about the Federal Reserve banks.... If I were trying to destabilize a nation, it would be a great target, and one is 5 miles from where I was living!
Then it was realized that no one had heard from the President. No one knew where he was. Reports started trickling in that he was enroute to about a dozen different locations, on Air Force One, which was the only plane still in the air at that point. You couldn't help but feel abandoned at that moment.
The entire day was numb. It was too much emotion to handle. The grief, the shock, the fear, the relief that you were not in the middle of it and safe, the remorse that you allowed yourself to feel that relief for even a second, while others were suffering.
We, as a nation, as a world really, watched as those that were trapped in the top of the towers began flinging themselves from the roof. They knew they were trapped, and would not escape. They wanted it to be as quick as possible, instead of slowly cooking... That thought has, and will always haunt me.
Then we found out that the plane that went down in PA was re-claimed by the passengers, and they made sure they would not be used as a weapon. We were speechless. Brave souls already showing that we can and will fight back.
There is so much more to say, but it is still just too painful at times, to even think.
I can't believe it has already been 7 years, ! It was a tragic day! My condolences to any who have lost family and/or friends in this horrific tragedy!

I rememeber it very well. I was working that day and had the radio on. It came over the radio that a plane had hit the Twin Towers, I run out the back and got Les the gardener and told him what had happened. He came in and we listened to the report on the radio. He went back out and two minutes later I was out again and I screamed at him that America was under attack!!
he came in and we switched the T.V. and watched it all unfold before our disbelieving eyes. How? Why? What next? It was a sad day for humanity the World over. My thought s and prayers are with all my friends in the U.S. on this tragic day. God bless you all.
I was in my first year of aviation when those planes hit. A plane came in and the pilot asked why he was forced to land at our airport. I had to tell him, and then I escorted him into the pilot;s lounge just as the second plane hit. I still feel horrible for all involved, including the pennsylvania, and pentagon victims. God be with all of the affected families, and everyone else this touched today.
I can remember exactly where I was. I was in hospital when the news came on saying that the north tower of the World Trade Centre had been hit by an aircraft. The ward just went silent, you could hear a pin drop, then we watched as the second aircraft hit the south tower and I remember thinking about all those people who had just been killed. Then we watched the fire crews go in and start to climb the twin towers. Then the south tower collapsed and someone said " Oh my god, all those people ". Then we watched in horror as the north tower collapsed. It was just mind numbing to watch.
I think that the bravery of the emergency services and the people of New York on that tragic day was magnificent.
I was at work but we had a short day so I went home turned on the news and watched it all.
I am terribly sorry for all the people that lost their lives that day but one victim sticks out in particular.
Sandra "Sandy" Bradshaw a flight attendant was on flight 93 the jet that went down in Shanksville, Pennsylvania. She was a North Carolina resident and didn't live too far away in Greensboro, NC. I didn't know her but it did come close to home.
Bless them all on that flight for having the courage to stand up and say "Not without a fight!"
My daughter was supposed to be born on that exact day.
I woke up for work as usual, turned the TV on to catch the weather, as usual.
Then while getting dressed for work i heard about a plane crashing into one of the towers.
I woke the wife up and told her "some idiot just crashed a plane into a building."
She woke up to watch the news then we seen the other plane hit.
I told my wife, that I need to go to work but if you feel you are ready to deliver the baby, then just call me and I'll be right there for her.
I leave to work.
I get to work in time to hear about the Pentagon.
And also the other plane that had our FIRST Terrorists fighters on it.
I call my wife
She's freaked out about what has just happened.
She swears to me that she WILL NOT deliver the baby today.
She literally crossed her legs all day long (like that would stop anything)
I called her during every break I had at work.
She didn't want our baby to celebrate her birthday on the same day as this tragedy.
Fortunatly for us, our daughter was born exactly 1 week later.
Sept 18th.
So we did see a little light shine on us after all the darnkess.
My heart went out to all of those who lost their lives that day.
Moms, Dads, Sisters, Brothers, children, friends, mentors, grandparents, etc.....
What a horrible day.
I don't like reflecting on it.
I woke up to that on the alarm clock that morning 1st time i didnt hit the snooze button. I had to go to greensboro nc to take a test for my job at the time. I dont rember much about that day is was like in slow motion.
God help the families of the ones lost in all the terriable deeds done that day.
To know others you must know yourself first!
