I think, that because he commanded some Autobots, doesn't make him an Autobot leader. leaders have to have certain traits, not the least of which is believing in the cause!

It was an "advisory role" but since the Autobots were in disarray. they neded someone to lead them. That was me, for a short while at least. Didn't do to bad either, defeated Cyclonus and Scourge and helped to defeat Galvatron. Who of course new exactly what was happening.
