okay its been a while since i did anything at my beast to be
so i had a weekend on it
i bought another tractor the same as a donor tractor ie any worn out parts on the restoring tractor can be replaced by the good ones on the donor tractor
quick note i HATE breaking tractors for parts i only do it when absolutely nescasary
after spending the better part of half a day trying to suss out the wiring from the dynamo to the regulator i lost my famous patience and threw then both in the bin and aquired an alternator which is the dynamo ond regulator combined into one casing and half the wires
after connecting a rather overcharged battery to the tractor and wiring it to the ignition key it turned the engine over so fast that i got a flame from the exhaust manifold
the test lightbulb that i had wired into it got so hot with the electrical current from the alternator that it fused
i hate wiring
so onto the bodywork
new tyres ( whoopeeee ) £300 for a new set of boots and fitted them then realised that i would have to take them off again to paint the rims
new mudguards ( whoopeeee ) £360 ( yeeouch thats some cash for 2 pieces of pressed steel ) they will be fitted after painting
next up will be the re wiring of the dash console

here we go again
i did all the rewiring and it actually works which is a small miracle for me
next i needed to remove the old mudgaurds which you may think is an easy job
WRONG
they obviously havent ever been removed in the tractors 39 year history and as suchthe nuts were siezed to the bolts and after 2 hours of various tools
socket sets
spanners
screwdrivers
prybars
hammers
chisels
i got mad at it and out came the 9 inch angle grinder
they WILL come off
after removing the old mudguards it became time to get out the spray paint gun i sprayed everything with grey primer paint
the wheel rims front and back
both new mudguards
the engine
the gearbox
the rear linkage and drawbar
the roll bar
the final drives
the brake housings
the wheel hubs front and rear
the walls
the floor
the roof
then i left it 24 hours for the primer to dry then i applied the final coat of DB chocolate brown to the engine
the gearbox
the rear linkage and drawbar
the roll bar
the final drives
the brake housings
the wheel hubs front and rear
the walls
the floor
the roof
and left it another 24 hours then i re assembled the skid unit and sheeted it up so the white spray dust didnt spoil my nice new paintjob
then i sprayed the wheels
the mudguards
the dashboard
the air filter intake
the dash panel
the seat
the floor
the walls
the roof
and myself
with DB orchid white
i am now just waiting for it to dry before final reassmebly
and i will wire that dash console
and
