5 years...
Well, I've been meaning to make this thread for a couple weeks.
Amidst the bustle of the holidays, Dec. 29 was my fifth anniversary here at TFL.
Five years... things have changed a lot in that time! People have come and gone, we've lost some friends, and made many new ones.
I can't tell you how many of my friends are people I've met in this little corner of the universe, and I've even brought some of my friends from outside, here. I'm also geekily proud to number myself as the one fortunate enough to meet my significant other in these hallowed halls!
Five years... back then, I was in high school, flush with xmas cash, and trolling the evilbay for a G1 Sideswipe. there was one listed, but the side effect of that listing was much more fruitful- a whole store full of g1 stuff that I'd never had as a kid, and a small forum in which I could make myself at home without being drowned in a faceless crowd of thousands.
Of course, at the time no-one was around much.
I'm glad I stuck with it though, look at who all has come to the party since! Though, you'll all still n00bs in my eyes Yes, even you, CM, with your bazillion posts... pretty much everyone but Trance and Jose. Galvy, I'd count you as a non-n00b if you ever posted within a year of my arrival
So I guess, to celebrate my half-decade here, (a quarter of my now 20 years of collecting), i want to thank all of you for being such a wonderful and dedicated community, it's been a great pleasure to reside amongst you, and my task of making sure things stay well in order has been very easy, and i've enjoyed being able to use that time to get to know you rather than having to chase down unruly mobs of trolls and whatnot. Besides, I have my faithful crew of mods and admins to do that, and to them I send my extra thanks.
No matter where I wind up in the world as my life situation transforms in coming years, I will always come home to TFL. Here's to another five!

Gotta say that I do love this site. Everyone is so close-knit. It is, honestly, amazing. I am glad to have been given a chance to get to know all of you, even if it is mostly passing glances and friendly hellos.
As Hailstorm said, "Here is to many more!"
You also said,
I'm also geekily proud to number myself as the one fortunate enough to meet my significant other in these hallowed halls!
I can say I did the same thing. Well not at this forum, but another. But, that's a story for another time.
