Wizkids Pirates CCG

Post by LD2062 »

This site seems to have a pretty good European membership so I wonder if there is someone who can help me.

The game company Wizkids produced a constructable Pirate card game.

When they released it they did so in 2 versions. The American version, seen in this picture, had punch out islands that where placed on the gaming area by the players. In the European version the packs instead included a fold out gridded play map.

I've been trying for a long time to track down a copy of the European rules, preferably in English but I'll take whatever I can get. I also want to the the measurement of a square on the mat.

Now I just need a scan of the rules, not a physical copy. And the American rules were just 1 page so scanning should be easy.

Is there anyone who can help?

Thank you.

Its possible they're even posted online somewhere, although not on any English language site I've found.

Far over the Misty Mountains cold, To dungeons deep and caverns old. The pines were roaring on the height, The winds were moaning in the night, The fire was red, it flaming spread, The trees like torches blazed with light.

I think those are the American rules. In the game setup it says to place the islands rather than using a play mat.

Perhaps it redirects based on where you are logging in from?

Like how cartoon network Dot com won't let you watch certain videos outside the US, and BBC one won't let us yanks catch up on the Doctor Who stuff after last year's season finale.

I am 100% full of Blackbelt Google-Fu WIN, baby.

You might have to join that Yahoo Group.
And it *looks* like the scan might be too small to read, unless you have better enlarging technology than I do.

So, okay, maybe I'm only 50% full of WIN.

But you might be able to get the gist of things... AND you now know of a message board that includes a member that DEFINITELY has what you are looking for. Get Yahoo IM, send him a polite message, and you should be golden.

Thanks for the link. Its just my luck that they're gone, I frequently hit upon boards after the people I want to speak to have left.

You still might have luck if you post your request to the board. It seems to still be active, and HE posted the scans at the request of others... so it stands to reason that somebody there might have gotten him to scan at a better quality and mail to them directly, or might know how to get ahold of him if he doesn't reply to Yahoo IMs, etc.
