I remember begging for a walkman when I was younger. That is hilarious! If I ever have minicons of my own, im gonna start them out like I did. At least for the most part cause you cant find a walkman anymore, unless its at an old estate sale or something.

But it's not just that, Dirge... I mean... when I was this kids age, I could use an eight track player... and a record player... and it took me 10 minutes to figure out how to use a reel-to-reel.

I loved my walkman! SOMEONE around here decided i didn't need it, and garage saled the damn thing

Once, when changing the cassettes in my car's deck on the ride home from college, i asked my buddy to put the cassette back in its case for me.

HE COULDN'T GET IT.


He now works as a mechanical engineer, and I'M unemployed. What?


Also, for one-upmanship, I know how to work a Victrola. Stick that in your cylinders and burn it.

having said that my friend has a 9 year old kid who cant play the n64 cause he says its got crap graphics and sound

Even after the gamecube and wii, Perfect Dark is still a riot and a half with the guys. N64 was back when games were physically stout. They could lie about and be dropped, and getting them to work just involved blowing on the terminals really hard to get the dust out

it still does involve blowing on the terminals

Unless you had a gimpy NES. Then you hyperventilated, hoping in vain that it was non-existant dust that was causing your flashy screen of annoyance. Then you tried holding the cartridge to the right while putting it in. Take it out... blow... hold cartridge left... take it out, blow... put cartridge in ever so gently, applying slight downward pressure until it just clicks... Success! Until five minutes in, and your overly excited friend jumps up, and you get flashies again. Recycle, repeat!

I recently bought a new terminal for my old nes and woila! Its a perfect gaming machine. You dont even have to push the game down to use it. Its great! These new kids will never know what its like to grow up with an apple 2g computer or none at all. I saw a walmart commercial about school, and every kid had a laptop. What a croc of you know what.

I love my PC ...but I love my SNES hours of fun!!!

the 64 was super fun. Golden eye was the bomb. I can't say the super was that awesome though. genesis was better for button lay out, as long as you had the 6 buttons.

Ahh, good memories. N64, NES, Genesis. Perfect Dark was a great game, and guess what, for those of you with an Xbox360: It's coming to Live Arcade this winter with 4 player Live multiplayer and 1080p graphics, among things! I'll see those of you with a 360 on Perfect Dark! Now... they need to release Goldeneye...

Proud SNES/Mega Drive/Master System/N64 (Starfox 64 FTW!)/Game Boy/Game Gear/PSX gamer and past owner.
My PS2 and PSP don't count.
I still have a Mega Drive, a Game Boy, a PSX and a Game Gear (with the TV adaptor!!!).
I often kill my time on Mario Bros 1/Lost Levels/3, SNES Donkey Kong Country 1/2/3, Sonic 1/3D and Streets of Rage 2.
In case you don't know, with custom firmware, all those ROMS of the old school games can be played on a PSP! And with a 8GB memory stick you can work miracles!
Basically, you can play most of Genesis, SNES, Game boy, Game Gear (i think), PSX, DS (i think) and N64 (still WIP...) games.

hell we started out with pong on the tv, then it was atari and then intellivision (which had grappy graphics ), then it was the NES then the SNES then was the jaguar from atari and then sega, then genesis for sega, then playstation then nintendo 64 then sega dreamcast, then x box then playstation 2 and so on those are the order i got my game systems now i have a gamecube and a playstation 2 and a WII

I remember when I was a kid I was spoiled rotten!
I had a NES, SNES and Sega Genesis. I had a walkman but never used it.
I didn't start caring about portible music until 6th grade and by that time walkmans were already becomeing rare.

I remember I had problems learning how to work cd players when they first came out, but it only took me a couple hours at most...

I still don't 100% understand texting... someone asked me to put my name in their phone some years back and after stareing at the keypad for about 2 min. I asked where the "Shift Key" was!
