i am going to complain about something that we all can get annoyed with.
I recently did a search on ePay for some headmaster jr. figures that I look for from time to time, as well as looking for the autobot powermasters. I come upon one seller's auction that says "Hosehead 90% COMPLETE" and I think, ok, how many accessories is it missing to warrant "only" a 10% decrease?
The figure is missing all accessories, and the ladder extention! So the headmaster, the seat, the two small guns, and the large gun, not to mention the ladder, collectively comprise only 10% of the figure's completeness.
I checked an auction by the same seller for getaway...which said "98% COMPLETE"
and it says "missing only Rev and the gun, which are easily replaced"
my knee jerk reaction is to craft a message questioning why arbitrary numbers are pulled out of this person's @$$ to come up with figures that are "almost complete" yet missing everything all together, sometimes even broken!
unbelievable. I've recently gotten into a habit of pointing out seller errors (one guy was selling getaway with HiQ, with the title of "Getaway with Rev", and when I told him it was not Rev but HiQ, he updates the descrip to say they are identical in appearence. I refer him to the pics here on TFL and he then changes descrip to say it comes with HiQ. The next day the auction was taken down) which i find somewhat entertaining to see them scramble to correct their (overpriced) mistakes. I could go on, but I'd get more irritated.
bah.

I totally agree ...and you should also do research if you're planning on getting something too, since there's always a chance that people have incorrect info on the items they're selling.Dirge1 wrote:i thought that the idea was to do a bit of research if you dont know what you have.
It's better to be safe than sorry
...and don't forget that 'knowing is half the battle'
*vomits on those auctions*Ramjet wrote:But it's "RARE! Vintage! L@@K!!!"
i hate those! I remember one seller was hawking 25th anniversary prime for $150! They used the same "Vintage RARE" b.s. I just messaged them with a link to amazon which was selling it for 37.99 with free shipping ahahahaha
those are just absurd. Universe cyclonus for $30+$18 shipping? Please. That's more of a ripoff than Bernie Madoff. Or non-alcoholic beer.Grimlock wrote:Has anyone noticed that the ones that do say Rare are usually the ones that everyone has about four of.
To me rare, means something like a complete, MIB Superion gift set ( Hee hee hee, Derrick has one of those ) or something of that nature.

Well, when i'm looking for something and see auctions that are overpriced for no reason or fraud intentions, i just think "f*** you" and checking the next auction.
Far over the Misty Mountains cold, To dungeons deep and caverns old. The pines were roaring on the height, The winds were moaning in the night, The fire was red, it flaming spread, The trees like torches blazed with light.

i have to have a rant
i live on a farm that is at the end of a long rough road and its also very steep
with all of the snow and ice i have been stuck here since monday even the tractor wouldnt move it all
today i manage to push through it to get to the salt bin that is on the end of the lane that the local council is supposed to fill with salt
ITS F*****G EMPTY
so i get back home and phone the local highway authority .. i got an answerphone message
" this office is closed due to the inclement weather "
AAAAAAARRRRRRRRGGGGGGHHHHHHHHHHHH
so i go to the council yard with the tractor and trailer to get some salt
the yard is full of salt spreading wagons
i ask one of the supervisors why the salt wagons arent spreading and delivering salt and get the response
" the road conditions are too dangerous for wagons "
these wagons are fitted with snowploughs and salting equipment they are built for such conditions
i just said that its more like the drivers are wimps.
ok rant over
