I get the distict impression that Rattrap and Dinobot do a lot of falling out with each other, but that is the only thing that really struck me about it.

IRONHIDE (Beast Wars)

Primary Function: MAXIMAL ELDER

Motto: “Slow is as slow does.”

Alternate Mode: ELEPHANT

BIO
Old when the Great War was still young, Ironhide is as courageous and indomitable (and as taciturn) now as he was all those many Meta-Cycles ago. But while he is still the same battle-hardened combat veteran, age has slowed him down, both in terms of his actual physical speed and his way of looking at things. There was a tendency, once upon a time, to meet every problem head on, but these days the experiences gleaned from several lifetime’s worth of cut and thrust (on and off the battlefield) have shaped a calmer, wiser Ironhide, one dedicated to shaping progress through peace.

WEAPONS/ABILITIES
Think-skinned is Ironhide in a nutshell, both in terms of personality and his physical being. Whether in robot mode or beast mode, he’s wrapped in some of the thickest amour plating and protected by some of the toughest polymers (so dense, at a molecular level, even gases can’t penetrate). In beast mode, his ears can create a bludgeoning downwind, and his tusks are studded with ultra-fine sensors, giving him a secondary (no-optical) field of vision. He can shoot (from his trunk or as a hand-held weapon) a variety of substances, from liquid nitrogen to superheated lead. Combines with Prowl and Silverbolt to form Magnaboss.

WEAKNESSES
None to speak of.

PROWL (Beast Wars)

Primary Function: MAXIMAL ELDER

Motto: “Chaos is just the state before order.”

Alternate Mode: LION

BIO
Sound reason and cool logic are the guiding tenets in Prowl’s life, and it’s these attributes that he brings to the overall Magnaboss union (with fellow Great War veterans Ironhide and Silverbolt). Structure is everything to Prowl. He cannot abide mess or chaos, instinctively seeking to tag and compartmentalize the world around him. This gives him a great degree of dispassionate distance from those under his command and the conflict(s) in general, making for calm, collected decision-making, even under fire. However, others tend to see him as aloof and unapproachable, and a little on the clinical side. But, tempered by Ironhide’s fortitude and Silverbolt’s compassion, it makes for a very wise head indeed.

WEAPONS/ABILITIES
Despite his ferocious beast mode, Prowl is infract a very measured and restrained presence, whether on the battlefield or in the political arenas of Cybertron. In combat, he’s a lofty presence, always stood where he can see all, absorbing the ebb and flow of the battle before committing to a strategy. However, like most sleeping Lions, when roused he’s a roaring, tearing force of nature, his tungsten alloy claws and teeth capable of penetrating armour up to six inches thick. His robot mode has limited flight capabilities and he wields a two-pronged acid fork/weapon.

WEAKNESSES
Illogical thinking or rash action on the part of an opponent can confound Prowl.

I've always liked the Magnaboss team, though I have to wonder how BW Prowl and Ironhide can exist this way in the cartoon continunity--it's obvious they're meant to be the same individuals from G1. Was this ever explained?

Oh, and I'd like to remind Commander Megatron that I'm still waiting to hear about the season three Minibots. ;)

You can tell this from the bio? Were they ever in the cartoon? I only saw season 1...

They went through the Maximal reformat. Same spark, same mind, new smaller and more efficient body. Its like what Ravage had done in the cartoon.

SILVERBOLT (Beast Wars)

Primary Function: MAXIMAL ELDER

Motto: “On a wing and a prayer.”

Alternate Mode: EAGLE

BIO
Though his aerial insecurities a largely a thing of the past, Silverbolt nevertheless still mutters what might be a mantra (or perhaps even a prayer) as he takes to the wing. Certainly there’s no doubting his courage, he’s at the forefront of any battle or engagement, rallying his troops and leading by example. And while there’s still the odd moment of vertiginous disquiet, Silverbolt never falters, never hesitates, his grim determination to- quite literally- rise above his fears a great inspiration to others. As he’s fond of saying, “Only a fool is without fear. It’s how you deal with it that matters.”

WEAPONS/ABILITIES
Amazingly fast and possessed of dazzling aerodynamic skills, it’s a wonder that Silverbolt still has qualms about his airborne capabilities. If anything, his beast mode is a far more natural fit than his former jet mode ever was. In this form, Silverbolt can soar to great heights, conserving fuel by riding air currents before descending in a power dive that inevitably takes his opponent unawares. He carries a battery of EMP missiles in his feathers, against which only the most heavily shielded electrical systems have any defence. In robot mode, Silverbolt carries twin ion blades. He combines with Ironhide and Prowl to become Magnaboss.

WEAKNESSES
Silverbolt has turned his one weakness into a strength.

MAGNABOSS

Primary Function: LEADER

Motto: “May wisdom nourish my spirit and courage guide my sword.”

BIO
In an age where Cybertronians had downsized significantly to conserve resources, the technology to create combining Transformers was largely shelved. Then, when the Predacon forces revived the process with the monstrous Tripredacus, the Maximal Elders Ironhide, Prowl and Silverbolt responded by reformatting their bodies, allowing them to form a new combiner: Magnaboss. Having fought together for eons, the three sparks integrated smoothly into a new persona. Magnaboss has Prowl’s powerfully analytic mind, Ironhide’s strong sense of courage and Silverbolt’s extreme compassion. He is an inspired leader who served as a symbol of Maximal unity and strength. After the Pax Cybertronia was signed, he was never seen again. Legend has it that he ties in wait until the day his might and wisdom will be needed once again.

WEAPONS/ABILITIES
A titanic force on the battlefield, his very footsteps cause tremors in the ground beneath him. Maganaboss’ great size and rapid processing capability allow him to survey a battlefield and map out strategies in seconds. Ironhide’s tusks serve as antennae to receive and transmit signals, allowing him to coordinate his troops in battle. Thrusters built into his back provide limited flight capability. From his chest he is able to launch an assortment of missiles. His Thunderclap Missiles release waves of highly concussive sonic energy, while his Lightning Missiles generate multiple blasts of high energy lightning that burn out enemy circuitry. His sword is a poly-alloy composite that allows it to cut through almost any substance and deflect energy weapons fire away from him.

WEAKNESSES
Magnaboss is not particularly agile in the air.

CICADACON

Primary Function: PREDACON ELDER

Motto: “The knowledge of ages is my sword and shield.”

Alternate Mode: CICADA

BIO
The popular theory is that Cicadacon, in common with the other unifying members of the Tri-Predacus Council, is very old. Certainly, his knowledge of the Great War and even before – extending to every battle, engagement and confrontation – is second-to-none. If he once went by another (Decepticon) name, any such records that may prove or disprove this have been long lost. Certainly, Cicadacon trades on fear and respect such a lineage instinctively breeds. Cruel, cunning and exceptionally clever, Cicadacon is a tactical genius, though lately some – within the Predacon ranks – have come to question his long term strategy and even his actual commitment to the Predacon cause.

WEAPONS/ABILITIES
Rarely ever to be found in beast mode, Cicadacon prefers the agile dexterity and grace of his robot mode. Though he conducts himself with a measured gravitas, he can move fast… Very fast! Employing twin ion swords, he can slice and dice an unwary opponent in a nano-klik, disorientating opponents with a bewildering rapid-fire agitation of his wings. He combines with Ram Horn and Sea Clamp to form Tripredacus.

WEAKNESSES
Cicadacon sees enemies everywhere, even on home turf, making him more then a little jumpy.

RAMHORN

Primary Function: PREDACON ELDER

Motto: “Do what I say or get out of my way.”

Alternate Mode: BEETLE

BIO
There’s nothing remotely subtle about Ramhorn. He says something, then does it, often before good sense has had a chance to prevail. He accomplishes his ends through brute force and coercion, riding roughshod over others’ needs and ambitions to secure his own position of power. He’s by no means stupid, but there’s a pig-headed obstinacy that makes him appear so. Sometimes, he’ll blithely ignore common sense and logic in his all-encompassing desire not to be moved. The fusion of minds (with Cicadacon and Sea Clamp) as Tripredacus dilutes this dogged ‘me, me, me’ attitude, but only slightly. Many believe that it is Ramhorn’s intransigence that has led to the perceived stagnation of the Tripredacus Council (in terms of its overall effectiveness as a decision-making body).

WEAPONS/ABILITIES
Densely armoured with successively tougher layers of metal plating, Ramhorn is a stop-at-nothing tank of an individual, whether in beast or robot mode. In terms of weaponry, his front horn generates seismic vibrations up to force eight on the Richter scale. Solid rock crumbles before his approach, and he uses the effect to upend enemies before piercing their hide with ancillary mandibles. In robot mode, Ramhorn employs a reality-warping weapon that creates localised areas of disruption to the (generally accepted) laws of physics, negating gravity, atmosphere and molecular cohesion (among other things).

WEAKNESSES
Ramhorn’s obstinate adherence to one course of action can be used against him, especially by a canny opponent.

SEA CLAMP

Primary Function: PREDACON ELDER

Motto: “Less is more, much more!”

Alternate Mode: LOBSTER

BIO
A lumbering, monolithic presence, Sea Clamp is incredibly brutal and lethal. Once he has you in his pincers, you can kick and scream all you like – in fact, Sea Clamp encourages this – but you’ll never break free. Slowly, inch by agonising inch, he closes the pincers on his prey, cracking six inch thick armour plating with little apparent effort. Often, Sea Clamp barley seems to move at all, hardly speaking (unless prompted). Noting seems to phase of excite him, his reactions always first considered from every angle, and then, when it comes, it might just be the blink of an optical blast shield. He remains a stone-faced enigma to many, even to his fellow Tri-Predacus Council members.

WEAPONS/ABILITIES
In beast mode, Sea Clamp will lie in wait on the ocean floor, partly obscured, generating subliminal pulsewaves through the water to draw in his prey. These pulsewaves, to Maximal sensors, manifest themselves as faint echoes of a Cybertronian distress signal, luring the unwary to their doom. Once in Sea Clamp’s pincers, there’s no escape. They exert a force equivalent to 6,000 lbs per square inch and few armours can withstand such force for long. In robot mode, Sea Clamp uses his (closed) pincers as bludgeoning weapons.

WEAKNESSES
In any kind of pursuit, Sea Clamp will always come off second best.

TRIPREDACUS

Primary Function: WARRIOR

Motto: “Let the walls come tumbling down!”

BIO
All the very worst elements of the Tripredacus Council come together to form the giant super-robot Tripredacus. As individuals, the trio have personality quirks that perhaps limit their overall effectiveness and, in some cases, directness of action. Not so in combined form. Cicadacon’s cruel streak, Ramhorn’s relentlessness and Sea Clamp’s sheer brutality are all given full reign, creating a colossal, single-minded engine of mayhem and destruction. Most at home in the dead of night, Tripredacus likes his enemies with their guard down and their responses dulled by fatigue. And when he’s done, they can rest in pieces!

WEAPONS/ABILITIESSheer bludgeoning force and crushing strength, not to mention dense armour plating, make Tripredacus a walking, talking siege machine. But his size and strength pale before his Tri-Missile launcher. Sea Clamp’s concealed linkage system connects Cicadacon’s rotor blades to Ramhorn’s powerful drilling motor to create this weapon of mass destruction. Sonic batteries combine with ion disruptors and reality warping waves to smash through and defences or armour plating, destabilising matter at a molecular level and then tearing it apart.

WEAKNESSES
None. But the individual component personalities often clash, preventing combination.

@ Cyclonus98: Sure thing.

WASPINATOR

Primary Function: AERIAL ATTACK

Motto: “Waspinator tired of being universe’s chew toy!”

Alternate mode: WASP

BIO
There are those who believe that every being in the universe has a preordained role in the grand cosmic scheme of thins, but all who have met Waspinator agree that his role is more of a cosmic joke. Nothing ever seems to work out right for the poor Predacon. In battle, he is often the one dispatched in the most gruesome manner and in personal interactions no one fears him and most Maximals consider him a nuisance at best. Undaunted, Waspinator soldiers on, believing that his loyal service to the Predacons will one day bring him the glory that his Spark desires. Waspinator is certainly capable of evil… he’s just not very good at it.

WEAPONS/ABILITIES
Waspinator is a skilled flyer who specialises in hit and run attacks from the air. In both beast and robot modes his sensors are designed to analyse a wide field of battlefield data and work with his processing core to determine several potential attack patterns within a matter of nano-kliks. His primary weapon is a missile launcher capable of firing conventional explosive missiles or specialised Toxic-Sting missiles that paralyze enemies on contact.

TRANSMETAL FORM (WASP/JET FIGHTER)
The indestructible Spark of the Decepticon Starscream once possessed Waspinator, and – upon being defeated by the Maximals – wandered through space and time. Starscream eventually entered an alternate timeline, whereupon he possessed that universe’s Waspinator. When a Quantum Surge struck the alternate Earth, Waspinator’s form changed into a Transmetal with Starscream using his influence to shape the vehicle mode into a jet fighter resembling his old vehicle form. The two Sparks within Waspinator are constantly struggling for control of their shared body. This sometimes causes him to argue with himself using two distinct voices. Secretly, though, Waspinator enjoys the enhanced skills Starscream brings to his role as a flier. In his new vehicle form, Waspinator can fly at speeds up to Mach 3 with a maximum altitude of 350,000 feet. His hand held rifle fires null rays that disrupt the flow of electricity.

WEAKNESSES
Waspinator is not particularly intelligent or cunning.

SCORPONOK

Primary Function: LIEUTENANT COMMANDER

Motto: “The only true loyalty is to oneself.”

Alternate mode: SCORPION

BIO
Some Cybertronians come online with a certain lever of wisdom, others completely naïve. Scorponok falls into the latter category. Megatron inducted him into his renegade force with grand (tall) tales of the Predacon Empire rising again. To further entice him, he made Scorponok his second in command. Megatron fully trusts that Scorponok will never betray him, and sure enough, when Terrorsaur defeated Megatron in combat, Scorponok was the only Predacon not to follow the new leader and instead repaired Megatron so he could reclaim his command. There is no doubting his courage: he is willing to charge into battle with little regard for his own wellbeing… so long as Megatron orders him to.

WEAPONS/ABILITIES
Scorponok’s armour is specially designed to withstand temperatures up to 800 degrees Celsius. This gives him particular resistance to heat-based weaponry such as flamethrowers. His tail fires a Cyber-Sting, disrupting the signals between an enemy’s nerve fibres to paralyse them. His right claw launches a reconnaissance drone Scorponok has dubbed “Cyberbee.” The left claw fires twin missiles. For night time missions, Scorponok can utilise his Battle Helmet, which provides enhanced vision in the dark.

TRANSMETAL FORM (Scorpion)
The Quantum Surge that rocked Earth following the destruction of the Planetbuster knocked Scorponok into a pool of lava along with Terrorsaur. Both were presumed destroyed. The truth, though, was that both became Stasis Locked by the simultaneous impact of the wave and lava. When he awoke, after Megatron’s departure from Earth, Scorponok’s body had evolved into a Transmetal form. Unlike most Transmetals, though, he did not gain an additional mode. However, he did gain the ability to fly via hover fans integrated into his beast form and thrusters built into his legs. His physical strength increased exponentially, and some believe it currently rivals that of Megatron himself. In addition to his Cyber-Sting, Scorponok fires a flammable gel from his tail that attaches to an enemy and ignites.

WEAKNESSES
Scorponok is not very smart and can easily be fooled.

TERRORSAUR

Primary Function: AERIAL COMBAT

Motto: “Claim power as if it is already yours.”

Alternate mode: PTERANODON

BIO
Power hungry, deceptive and cruel, Terrorsaur embodies many of the core Predacon principles. He did not join Megatron’s rouge band to avenge the lost honour of the Decepticons or to bring the Predacon race back into power, his sole interest was the acquisition of personal power. To this end there is no enemy he will not attack and no comrade he will not betray. Terrorsaur’s ambition was almost fulfilled once when he overcharged on Energon and defeated Megatron in one-on-one combat. His leadership was short lived, however, and during the Quantum Surge, he fell into a lava pit and disappeared.

WEAPONS/ABILITIES
Terrorsaur is extremely fast and highly skilled in aerial manoeuvres, specialising in extended strafing runs (often exhausting his entire arsenal in one go). He prefers to tag-team with Waspinator for his aerial onslaughts, but always considers him utterly expendable. Terrorsaur is also a highly skilled computer technician, with an encyclopaedic knowledge of codes and programs from across the galaxy. His primary armament is a hand-held Ion blaster that is also capable of firing missiles. He also has two highly destructive cannons hidden in his shoulders.

TRANSMETAL FORM (Pteranodon/Arieal Attack Jet)
When Terrorsaur disappeared into a lava pit, the other Predacons assumed he had been destroyed. In reality, he had been thrown into Stasis Lock deep underneath the Predacon base. When he awoke he found his body had mutated into a Transmetal form. Faster and more powerful than before, he gained a third mode, an aerial vehicle. Emitters integrated into his wings fire repulsor beams that know targets off balance with pulses of highly focused, concussive force. His vehicular form can reach speeds up to Mach 1.8. In robot mode, he is armed with two large blades that heat up to 2,000 degrees Celsius. Combined with his sharp claws and bladed shoulders he is very effective in close-quarters-combat.

WEAKNESSES
Terrorsaur’s soaring ambition generally outweighs his abilities, leading to one crash-landing after another.
