In the G1 cartoon, soundwave was shown as a.... Streetlight.... in the first episode. He was also shown to dispatch Laserbeak shortly after so I guess in the toon at least they didn't need to be Cassette players. Don't know if it occurs in any of the other fictions tho.

I can't believe I thought Cassettes were the way of the future.

In the cartoon series, when is in space (what i call G2) part of the series.
In the ep. Primetives, soundwave ejects about 5 cassets (or so i recall), and Blaster 2 cassets, one after another in one scene!
And in the cartoon series headmasters, after blaster turnes into twincast, all of his 4 casset-bots transformes all (the opposet of ejec) into him in a raow, so must mean that they hold more then one!
But anyways, to get back to the point of why i need to know, is that i thinking of maybe using it in the RPG, so what is you guys take on it?

Just in reference to the above posts. I have a character [albeit secondary] called Warstorm who uses similar tech but has cylinders rather than cassettes. (think cybertron: soundwave)
He has three distinct variations: Shatterhorn [rhino type drone], killereagle [bird type drone] and Widow [spider type drone]. Stored on his person or in his chest compartment. They are non sentient though and follow his commands telepathically, thus when they are destroyed he can easily replace them by building more.

Man, sounds like cartoon Soundwave could pwn comic Soundwave!Commander Megatron wrote:Eject as many as you want, its your character. Tho I wouldn't go much higher than 4, keep it sort of realistic, my answer was from the toy line. In comic lore Blaster could carry 4, but Soundwave only could carry one.
While the original Soundwave and Blaster toys could each hold only one cassette minion at a time, i always got the impression that the characters could carry as many as they wanted. (In TFTM, both launched four without any "reloading".) Where did you read that comic Blaster could carry four and comic Soundwave only one? and which comics--Marvel G1, Dreamwave, or IDW?
...Not Madman, apparently.
