Memorial Day

Post by Time Traveller »

Here's honoring America's fallen, those who paid the greatest price to keep the United States free. From those who fought to preserve our Union in the bloody civil war, to those who fought to create it in the war of independence, to those who fought across the oceans to maintain democracy at home in the wars of the 20th century, we honor you!

I think everyone in the US has someone in their family who was in The Big One. My Grandpa was in Korea, too.

I don't know about the big one but Ethan Allen is on my moms side somewhere. My wife's side has Comadore Perry many generations before my wife.
My Uncle served in the Navy for a while in his younger years. Some 40 years ago.
My wife's uncle served his 20 or more as a seabee as well.
Me, I'm on my way to 20. I'm at 13+ years of service to the navy.
Thank you to allof you for your support

My family is *fairly* certain that my grandfathers shot in each others general direction during WWII. They were on the same field of battle, at the very least.

My grandfather was in WWII fighting for America.
His Father was in WWI fighting for the Germans.

and supposedly (unconfirmed) one of my family was a Templar knight...

Of course those last two wern't in america's service.
All that was needed is a catalyst... and the machines of war are set in motion.

If at first you don't succeed, Destroy all evidence that you tried.

My Grandfather was in WWII and my Great Uncle Geordie was onew of those rescued from Dunkirk. As a little side note, my fathers cousin was a "prisoner" of Saddam Hussein while he was in charge of over seeing the building of his new palace during the Gulf War. He said that he was just told to carry on as normal and that nothing was going to happen to him or any of the workers. They were unharmed and allowed home when the war was over.
