But I just wanted to say that Blackjack is writing one of the best threads of all time.....
ONE A THE BEST THREADS A' ALL TAHM.

Even if you're not involved in the TFL roleplay, or especially if you are, whether you're new or old to it, you should most definitely go read Blackjack's awesome, awesome recap thread, A Brief History of the TFL Roleplay.
It stands testament to one of the coolest, most unique group-written fanfics the TF community has ever made, and his brilliant summary pieces together the myriad pieces into a cohesive, engaging, and addictive story for all to read. You all know TFL has been through ups and downs, but somehow, this story has endured, and 'Jacks extensive research makes it accessible without sacrificing the richly tragic, epic, and hilarious nature of this beast.

GO READ IT.

And when you're done, if it sounds cool, PLEASE JOIN. The roleplay has always been "the more, the merrier."

One last thing: I want you to know, I did not put my buddy Blackjack up to doing this. He just started writing on his own volition. He did not put me up to this thread, I just wanted to show my appreciation for bringing me back through all the times on TFL, both bright and dark, with his thread. Thank you, Blackjack. You are the first horseman of the anti-apocalypse: Win.

I now open THIS thread for discussion, comments, and questions about the history of the thread.

OMFG! That was beyond awesome. Great detail and story telling abilities. The more I read the more I forgot I was reading a fan fic/role play and the more I began to feel as if I was reading an official account within the Transformers co0ntinuity. The Dynamic described between the characters is awesome and it has definitely intrigued me. My interest is definitely peaked about TFL's rpg.

Awwww now you've gone and embarassed lil ol me.

But at least you didn't snub Taylor Swift to make this thread.

I don't really want to be put up on a pedestal for this though. I'm just putting together our story. It was something that I felt needed to be done as an aide to anyone interested in joining the roleplay. The story in there has always been exciting to me and it continues to evolve into one of the more interesting TF stories I've watched/read. I'd personally like to thank (in no particular order):

Commander Megatron, for the best Decepticon leadership the RP has ever had.
Optimus Prime, for taking such a cherished character and making him into the rediculous badass we've always imagined.
TT, for playing several of the most well developed fan characters that have ever been roleplayed. Both Time Traveller (the character) and Cambreaker should be made honorary transformers universe characters.
Galvatron, the character of Galvatron was so absolutely underrated in both the American and Japanese G1 series and what you have done here is marvellous. In the roleplay the character of Galvatron is given so much depth that even though he's a Decepticon I find myself rooting for him on so many occasions.
Rodimus Prime, another character who is so well roleplayed that I appreciate his portrayal here much more than any animated series. I actually like the Rodimus in the roleplay.
Arcee, I know I keep saying this but the people who have played these characters really went a step above and beyond. Acree is my favorite Autobot to read.
Deszaras, although sometimes hard to follow what he's got going on, Dez uses a lot of characters and elements from more obscure G1 series and I really appreciate that.
Kup, always one of my favorite characters and this version of him is no exception.
Ultra Magnus, although I really wish there had been more of this character his brief time in the roleplay adds so much to the story and development of other characters.
Delita-1, another character who wasn't around as long as I would have liked. The romance between her and Optimus, the father-daugther relationship with Galvatron, and the constant question of which side she was on make her one of the most memorable characters (and one of the most tragic losses) of the roleplay.
Goldbug, although I'm just getting the parts where he figured in the most, GB also did a lot to take his character from the background and give him some real depth.

If I'm snubbing anyone I apologize. I haven't even gotten to parts of the roleplay where characters like Sideways, Dinobot, Rumble, Dirge, and Minerva were part of the mix yet. And to anyone who is interested in the RP, please do join, now is the perfect time. TT, myself, or any regular RP member can help you get started.

And thank you all for reading and giving me feedback. I'm only about halfway done so if there's anything you'd like me to do more or less please let me know.

I commented you (Blackjack) on a PM when you first started this RP recap.
It is truly brilliant.

I remember when it all started many solar cycles ago.
It reminds of the good times and bad times that we all share.

Keep up the good work.

Steeljaw wrote: I'm sure everyone appreciates the chronicling and preservation of a massive roleplay, these things are important and by the time people think of recording them they're usually gone.
And part of my problem in doing this is that I got all modhappy one day and deleted some of the critical threads in the roleplay history. In particular the Autobot Booth, Decpticon Training Course, and the Ladies Room. It makes me really sad that I have no way to get that lost history back.

I really appreciate all of the support. It makes me feel like I'm not wasting these hours at work spent doing this instead of my job. It also makes me feel pressured to keep going so you all don't get bored.

That was the intention of putting the threads in there. I am really abrdiging parts of the story, particularly the battles and the parts that were difficult to interpret. Plus there are lot of little character discussions and puns that I've left out because they don't drive the overall story. For the most part everything I mention ties into the story in some way.

TT and I have discussed having an archive type thing to put any kind of unused through in, instead of just deleting it. I may consider making a personal backup of the roleplay sometime. I don't forsee ever needing additional room though.

I don't know much about Internet archives but if somoene does I'd be glad to try it. I'll see what I can find as well. Thank you for taking a role in helping me to find this lost history, I really appreciate it.

For those of you this interested in the story, please join. You too could be part of future pages of the TFL roleplay history. If you need help thinking of what character to play or how to get started I'd be glad to assist.

The Ladies room thread was short lived anyway. I think I popped my head in there once to shout GIGGITY. I honestly cannot remember why that thread was created. So I don't think it was of much importance.
Maybe it was for Arcee and DeLita-1 to use. For some strange reason, Fembots always use the restrooms together.

My training course thread was a place I worked out. I had (female) Cyclonus and Delita-1 do some training there. We did work outs like speed transforming, target practice, racing, acrobatic techniques etc... I would usually just watch the fembots doing everything. Underneath my training course, I had a secret "Lair" where I came up with some of my wonderful plans to destroy the Autobots. I think I left Wheelie's spark down there somewhere. I used him as a hostage. But none of the Autobots came to resque him LOL!!

Not too sure what happened at the Autobot booth. I was never allowed over there.

Woah. "Darkest hour" was epically written. With such an intricate battle, you really did an ace job at it. Also, for truly being the darkest hour, it was a shining moment for everyone's roleplay skills. Let's do it again sometime!

the entire written RP history that BJ has done is totally amazing. I'm glad to be a part of it. As I read, it brings back a lot of memories that we all have shared with each other on TFL. In some cases, I have made real "internet" friends.
