closer to being finished, but not quite:
Need to finish the arm cannons and order some reprolabels for the insignia and wing & vertical fin stripes.
3/19/09:
finished painting the cannons, still need to order stickers:

Here's my latest WIP: Silverstreak to Bluestreak

(please ignore the hood blemish)
I still need to paint a lot of the details: pelvis, shoulders, head wings, missle launchers, grill, rear bumper

Next up is a Classics/Universe Tigertrack (and a classics Diaclone Sunstreaker once the Sideswipe arrives).
I'm basing his altmode colors on this Lamborghini Gallardo:
the primary difference is I won't be using black the rear window/vents
and here's two early WIP pix:
(L) my retouched Sunstreaker and (R) the future Tigertrack
first coats on a few pieces. I'll use masking tape on the hood and roof to make the stripe.

Thanks for the compliments, ladies!
Update:
Pretty much just waiting on the Henkei Sideswipe/Lambo to arrive, then I can assemble him and do any final touch-ups. Then, it's a couple reprolabels and he'll be done.

My most recent ebay purchase arrived today (Henkei Sideswipe), so I was able to make some significant progress on a pair of customs:
Red Sunstreaker (based on an idea by Silverbolt)/aka D.I.A. Warrior Lambor
Using the Henkei chrome parts gives him a look that I think would complement the fansproject D.I.A. Commander Armor. I guess I have to decide to part with Lambor or buy a DIA Commander set.
and, inching ever closer to completion, is Tigertrack:
Just some decals to add and he'll be done. Can't tell from the pic, but his eyes are trans-green like his headlights and thigh plates. Working on expanding his bio from the official(see link below) and creating a story for him.

How do you repaint the headlights?

you gently pry them out and paint the back.
or paint under them.
or paint the outside translucent.
why orange and green? looks like football team colors?
I'm not mocking it
just curious to the inspiration?

After removing them, I used Krylon X-metals spray paint. They're transluscent (designed to be used with the sparkly base coat). But you can only use certain colors together (i.e. using red over the blue would've looked a little odd and very dark); you might notice the thighplates are a bluish green. For the eyes, I only painted the eyespieces themselves and not the entire part, so the lightpipe still works pretty well.
@Silverbolt:
for the colorscheme, it started with the name and finding the above pictured Lamborghini. To me, Orange + Black + White = tiger. The green came about as I just didn't want to leave the pieces blue (too close to the original).
Football colors? That wasn't intentional. I know the Netherlands national team colors' are Orange and White (and they sell a lot of green in that country

) and I think Ivory Coast's are Orange and Green. Who were you thinking of?
<edit: whoops, thought you were in UK for some reason. Wrong football

>
@Minerva:
Thanks!!!!!
