That's just how Takara is releasing Leader-class HFTD Starscream.

The next new mold is Rodimus.

That said, I see potential in an Ironhide, since it'd be a simple retool/repaint into Ratchet.

should have stuck to a more g1 style molds. this will prob. spell doom for the line.

No... That's just how Takara is releasing the Leader-class Screamer mold. It only has a new paintjob.

And Buster Prime was basically the same thing, only without the Masterpiece thing. Look how it sold. Like freaking hotcakes.

Movie masterpiece figures!? Shame on you Hasbro! :(

I'm hoping Thundercracker will get released in the US.

Takara is releasing Leader Starscream in Japan without tattoos under the Masterpiece line.

Shame on nobody, it's a clever marketing ploy.

So the recent announcement of a Masterpiece Rodimus was pretty vague as to whether it would be "Rodimus" (Hot Rod) or "Rodimus Convoy" (Rodimus Prime). But it's now confirmed to be Rodimus Prime.

I gotta say... BBTS will probably lower their prices... At least, they should. I doubt many people will pay $200 for something that would easily by $60 when it's released a few months later on our shores.

Yeah I'm underwhelmed. I've got the G1 guy, this is so close I'll skip it even at $60.

I just wish we could have a G1 accurate Ultra Magnus. A repainted Prime doesn't count in my book.

If you read the description its only 200 until Japan makes their final price then BBTS will lower theirs.

But... Ultra Magnus was a repainted Prime... just with extra (and really, REALLY blocky) armor.

UPDATE:

Not only is Rodimus Prime the next Masterpiece, but he's not JUST Rodimus Prime. He has a Hot Rod form, too. This makes him the first Masterpiece multi-changer, having four different configurations: Hot Rod, Hot Rod vehicle, Rodimus Prime, and Rodimus Prime vehicle. The trailer does become a battle station.

That rocks. Looks like a real gem! Must add this to my mental want list.

I agree. I hope the Hasbro release won't be too watered-down.

Not a big Hot Rod/Rodimus fan. I rather would see a Soundwave, Shockwave, or my favorite Gnaw :D

A little of topic, anybody know if you can still get Skywarps at Walmart?

Depends on the Walmart. Some, yes. Others, no.

And I'd say Soundwave would be the most likely of those.

I could see a MP Soundwave as the next Decepticon MP.

Masterpiece Wheeljack, definitely.

All of the MP Transformers have some sort of light up action, and 'Jacks little voice lights on the sides of his head would be so cool, and are screaming for the treatment!

He would also need to come with something that blows up in his face, like Grimlock's less than co-operative attitude, Autobot Spike, or something.

Then I'd like to see a masterpiece Nijika.
