Does anyone know the difference between a G1 Slag and a reissue one? Im thinking of bidding on a Slag, but im not sure if its a G1 or a reissue.

Anyone who can help me? :)

Well, official reissues of any of the Dinobots do not exist. All "reissues" are KOs.Be very careful if you want an original one (asking about the official stamp, release date etc). There is a possibility that some high quality KOs might have the Hasbro/Takara logo as well. I never had a KO to know their differences, perhaps Jose and Time Traveller can help here more than me.

If it says reissue AB is correct its a KO. most have officail looking boxes but they are KO's. I have two KO/reissue cassettes. [A black rumble and a very dark red lazerbeak. ] the cassettes are comparible in quality to the originals but as for dinobots I'm not sure.

Of course you could always get a true G1 slag from trance

There are two official reissues of Slag: The most known is the gray G2 version, which is nearly identical, except for the "Autobot" stamp on the leg. The other is the 1990's Classic Heroes version, made in Macau. On both you have to look real close to notice the difference, and both are a lot harder to get than a Japanese Slag.

Regarding the recent knockoff Slag, here's a review that I think might be useful:

Wow. Thanks for that. A friend has the Swoop KO, and he said it was just like the original, but he was going from memory from when he was a kid. I won't be getting any dinobot KO's ever.

Totally off topic, but Redline's sig rocks.

You know, lately I have been meditating about KO figures... I'd rather have a junk original than a KO... But... I'm about to crack for Swoop (but I'm resisting) and definetely I'll be getting the red Mirage. An original is too expensive. There are just too many ways to collect I guess.

I'm with you. Those Swoop's look so cool, until you get them, I bet. The clear ones are neat. And I keep seeing the Sixshots and have to keep telling myself "It's a crappy KO....it's a crappy KO...."
