Problem with wings on G1 Predaking

Recently got the D-78 Japanese reissue of the Predacons. Today, I combined him to Predaking for the first time, and am either unsure how the wings attach to the back of Razorclaw, or am disappointed with how poorly they attach.

When I attach the post on the front of the wings into Razorclaw's back, I can hear it click in, but they don't fasten firmly. The wings swivel to much either way, and I'm having a hard time believing they should fit this way. Tried a couple of different positions with Razorclaw's lion legs to help balance them, but it barely helps.

Am I missing something here? It seems like the lion legs should click them into place or something, but it ain't working.

Well i hate to be the bearer of bad news, but the wings for Predaking are just made poorly. I have a vintage one, and my wings do the same. I click it into place and use the lion legs to help them balance. My figure is on display so he isn't moved very often so it doesn't affect him. If its going to be on display that would be the best option IMO.

humm ok this might sound daft , but could someone please post a close up photo of the wing , with the black pin flat to the body (of the wing).
make the photo so i can see the top of the peg, which is connected to the body of the wing.
or tell me if the rounded end or square end (when the bar is flat to the wing body, like it has to be to connect to divebomb for beast mode) is seen.
i do remember a problem like this years ago (and im sure its Predaking ) but it was a long time ago but if it is the problem i remeber there is an a way to fix it
