I just got word that this years Botcon exclusive will be a five piece Animated Elite Guard set.

if this is already known then you can delete it, but i was asked by a couple friends and i had to make a few calls to get the info, and i wanted to share it with you all.

Yeah, It's been known already.


Kup is one of the figures and is a slight remold of Cybertron deluxe Red Alert. There is a repaint of Energon Landmine, renamed Landshark.

There is Decepticon Scourge, a repaint of Cybertron Sideways.

As well as Elite Guard Flak, another repaint, of Universe Scattorshot (?)

and finally, Elite Guard Commander Thunderclash, a repaint of Energon Rodimus.

There are confirmed {and rather crappy} energon starscream repaints themed like leozack and skyquake as well, but they are on the day pickup figures.

I reckon this years botcon figures are worse than the shattered glass figures from the last one. {With the exception of Flak who is a decent recolor/deco of that over used mold.}

I for one do like that Flak repaint. The landmine mold was pretty cool.

Yeah, this has been out for a while. TFCC has been making a big stink about it. The colors are atrocious, and they don't really seem to fit in anywhere. Are they animated? they're not the style. Are they universe? i thought EG was an Ani thing...
Well, at least i won't feel bad about not shelling out the hundreds of dollars to get them. It's not like the freaking classics seekers they did that you feel you need them to complete a series. sigh.

It would be cool if they did some g1 repaints since they are on a repaint binge every year. Not sure who they would do, but come on. Repaint after repaint is ridiculous.

The thing that really annoys me is that it seems like it's always the same molds that get repainted over and over and over...

Same with Classics Leo Prime, come to think of it. The whole point of that stupid mold was to comine as the savage claw crap, and on top of that, they yanked his electronics out

Hahah! I saw that. I refer to my previous statement of feeling no commitment to buying any of them.

This is sad. I got the last 2 boxed sets and have been very satisfied. Especially with the Games of deception. I was going to continue getting the sets until I saw this years, I don't think I can bring myself to getting this one. The figures are awfull and at this point if thier going to do repaints they better damn well be a great mold and an interesting figure, like say the seekers were. Sad sad sad.

Whats worse is that I planned on painting my Nemisis Breaker into Razorclaw... at least I don't have to pay for it.

Snag classics leo prime when he hits shelves (or get him online). His op-prime-ish head is closer to Razorclaw's head.
