So Close Am I To Nailing Down a Tough Toy

So I bought my neighbors g1 toys from him for 60 bucks about 5 months ago...got a complete devestator, near complete computron, near complete defensor, and a razor claw, pretty much tripled my pay out.

Now his dad comes to me and says, "Chris I was cleaning the attic out and he has a great big one up there. Big grey and blue transformer. Next time I talk to him I'll tell him to sell it to you, if he wanted it it wouldn't still be up there."

Can anyone guess who it is...I'm pretty sure its Fortress Maximus. The worst part about this all, he won't be home until summer is over...and I'm dying little by little everyday knowning that the cotter pin to my collection could very well be in the house next door to me!!!!!!!!!!!!

You got a pretty good deal in the first place but i'd say don't get too excited before being able to see if its Maximus and in what condition he is in...and before knowing the price.
Maybe you can ask to see him before your friend gets back...?

Good idea Razorclaw. If its really yellowed, which they have a tendency to do, you could sell it to me :D or use the food prep peroxide that was discussed here a while back to bring him to clean glory. Im about to do that for my friend's yellowed Fort Max. Attics are sometimes more brutal to different toys.

Good for you if you can get him. Hope he is complete.

A friend of mine bought a near complete Fort max for $25 at a flea market about 8 years ago. Now it's just sitting at her parents house. Supposedly she is trying to move in with me and maybe bring it with her. The problem is she's 800 miles away!

You know what's worse, AT?
Going through a HUGE pile, or collection, or boxload, or whatever... and finding a SINGLE ACCESSORY to something you really want...
Do they have it? If they have this acc, will it be complete? Did they make sure to put ALL the toys here?

Wait... What OTHER accessories do they have if they've got this tiny bit?

AGH!

The one fleamarket I go to has 1 guy who usually has transfomer items. Not whole toys, not a transformer section. Bins of junk toys I go through piece by piece. And I usually end up with 1 or 2 accessories or parts. I go through all of them item by item. First time I found soundwave's head. 3 visits later his barrel. I don't know were the guy gets the bits, or why he cannot get the bodies, but its enough for me to head out there again and again for the 3 little things I pay $.50 for.

I know that feeling LD. My old friend who owned a shop had 5 bins of transformer junk parts. I did the same thing every time. His store finally went under cause he wanted too much for his stuff. Im trying to get him to let me raid his storage unit. That would be 8)

I've always had this feeling that as soon as I dropped 500 or however many greenbacks for a fortress maximus, i'd see him shortly after at one of the flea markets i frequent for 20 or 30 bucks.

I'm going to see if I can get a sneak peek at him tonight though, will keep you posted!

Yes, but the second would be stripped of parts and panels. IF it was also complete, you could just flip it on ebay and make back your $500. I'd never complain at a $30 maxie, and mine's as good as it gets already!
