Mrs S has bought me this model kit, with the intention of turning it into an unusual SunStorm custom;
I'm gonna need an airbrush to properly coat it in an orange colour to start - can any of you custom specialists recommend an airbrush kit, as I'm not sure what to go for? I've never bought or used one before, but I know it would be the best way of getting that nicer finish....

Thats the same company who originally made G1 Jetfire, he looks a bit like him. What was the "Gerwalk" for?

I dunno. I think it's just because the toy itself happened to have the ability to be half in jet mode with it's legs down that they came up with some silly name and a battle excuse for it... lol I think they like to think it's a real third mode, but it just isn't - not like a TF like Blitzwing, or Octane etc etc with 3 properly different modes.
They should called it "my legs are stuck" mode

From what I can remember from Robotech the gerwalk mode was for land movement in battles when flight wasn't feasible as well as an alternative to runway landing in jet mode.
*shrugs*
Its going to make a neat looking custom, Sunny, no matter what the gerwalk featrue is!

Yeah, I can see hell make a great Sunstorm... I was wondering whether to try and get a Starscream head to authenticate it more, but on second thought I think the face of the model itself could be adopted interestingly...

I agree Des, the SV-51 is awesome, I liked
this version. It's a little cheaper too, but not much

They're from the Robotech Valkyrie toys - they're pretty amazing, and expensive, but damn I want one
EDIT: WOW! Nice job on Minerva there, Roar!
I too got to a little toy customising last night with Mrs S. I bought her this custom my little pony, an evil one called Severn the Executioner. It glows dark green, has a hangmans noose on it's butt and originally had this black bag over it's head with small eye holes. We weren't keen on the black bag as we could just see that the person had painted the eyes this amazing UV green with reflective bits inside it, so we took off the bag, and I painted it this dark, black executioners mask with some games workshop chaos black;
Yes, I totally enjoyed doing it. 'specially as it's evil.

looks like Mrs S will be stealing me to work on some evil pony customs soon

That's insane! I don't know my movie toys, who was that originally?
@Sunny: Take us a glowing pic. If you have a blacklight, I've heard that is the best way to photograph an irredecent toy.
PS: How the hell do you spell irredicent? iredescent irredesant HELP!!!

oh yeah - It had these jewel eyes that got scuffed over the years, so I ripped them out... I had real fun. Today, I gouged out a ponys eyes, pulled out it's head and tail hair, snapped it's head off and then covered the poor thing in paint.

Here's an update on this custom pony for Mrs S - she wanted it to have those good 'ol UV paints I've been making so much use of, so here's how it's looking now that I've UV'd it up;
I just have to re-hair the mane now, and it's all done. Then I can move onto finishing that Sunstorm custom using the Valkyrie model kit I got...
