Never seen something like that before. Even less a "foolball".
Doesn't the front axle swivel, like it could steer?

Here's my thinking: the front wheels slide in towards each other , and then the nosecone slides or accordions back into the body, such that the now narrower front axle fits in the widest part of the football.
BTW, Moved this to non-transformers toy talk. Since we have gobots here, I think we should keep all non-hasbro transformables here too!

I'd listen to TT, he's the McGyver of TF's...he could prolly transform a wristwatch into a bomb.
