I never stopped collecting Tf's what got in the way was not having any $$$$ at the time. Now that I have a little $$ I can buy what I can afford. I like the stories on here it's fun to hear about them. I thing I forgot to tell you guys that a good friend of mine his Mom was very upset with him and she called me and said (you ready for this?) Come over and grab his TF's crap and keep it or I'm going to throw his S&^% out the window! Sad to say he never came back to claim them now they are now part of my collection. He called after I moved down here to Orlando and said that I can keep them What a pal! :D (She also gave me a complete set of BK original Star Wars glasses from the 1970's)

Well back in the 80's I wouldn't ove called myself a collector. I was just a spoiled kid who got any toy on the shelf that I wanted.

Then when I was 12 or 13 my uncle sold/gave away all my transformers and Heman and Gijoe toys. It I still had them now I could buy a car with the value of them.

I started "collecting" transformers in 2005-6 when I first heard of the live action movie and my walmart started getting Classics figures on shelves.

So I've been collecting for about 4 years now but I've loved transformers since about 87-88.
All that was needed is a catalyst... and the machines of war are set in motion.

I've collected toys my entire life; even in middle and high school I'd make regular trips to the local TRU, but only occassionally dabbled in Transformers after about 86 or 87. My current collection, mainly Classics, started when the Classics line was drying up on the shelves, late 2006 I believe. So I guess my answer is somewhere between 3 and 35 years, depending on how you look at it.
My heart is die-cast.

Yeah, 2006 is about right. I got my 3 Classics up in Illinois and was excited to go home and buy some more. When I got back and went to Wal-mart and Target, they had vanished. Classics died way to fast I think. Thats my 2 cents.

I've begun collecting them in 1986 (I was 7 and I was heavily influenced by season 1 and 2 toons ).
I ceased at the end of 1987(also because new toys and season 3 didn't interest me) ; I started again in 2006 influenced by Ebay market and now,by TFL :D , and the discovery that G1 fans were still active after so many years (In 2004 I bought Metrodome DVD's and I liked already searchig info about the G1 universe in the US...) .

I guess I got my first TF (ROTF Sideswipe FTW!!!) in May of this year. Since then my poor, rag tag little collection has grown to 11 figures. I wouldn't be surprised if I'm the member with the fewest figs here...

I agree with Hot Rod, as long as you don't have junk you have a fine collection.
